Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is an executive producer of the docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning. The four-part series examines Combs’ life and uses some never-before-seen footage to do so. Combs’ lawyers have made threats over the use of footage from before their client’s arrest. Jackson revealed the moment in this footage he most wanted people to see.

50 Cent said there was one specific scene he wanted people to see of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs

Combs’ lawyers have pushed back against the use of some footage in the docuseries. They say the documentary makers obtained it illegally, which Jackson denied. The footage shows Combs having conversations with his lawyers and greeting people in the street. In one scene, Combs embraced fans in Harlem. After he got back in the car, he said he needed hand sanitizer or a bath.

“I’ve been out in the streets amongst the people. Yeah, I got to take a bath,” he said. “Like, like, the amount of people that actually I’m coming in contact with, like…that’s what I have to do.”

Jackson said he looked forward to showing people that footage. He believes it shows Combs’ character.

I said, ‘I can’t wait to [show] everybody else,’” Jackson told Us Weekly. “It shows you how he actually feels about the people when he’s in the act. That’s why I said king complex.”

Jackson finds it shocking that Combs said that while there was a camera on him.

“He felt awful,” he said, adding, “[He said,] ‘I feel dirty, I need hand sanitizer [and] a hot shower’ [after] just saying what’s up to somebody on the street? He knew he was being filmed. Maybe [he was] just high and didn’t know what the f*** he was saying.”

50 Cent thinks Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs will like the series

While the series certainly doesn’t present Combs in a positive light, Jackson said he thinks his longtime rival would enjoy watching it.

“It shows his full story,” he said. “Puff cares a lot about legacy, everybody knows that.”

He acknowledged that Combs probably won’t like every part of the series. Still, he believes he will respect the detail in it.

“This doc doesn’t shy away from any part of it,” he said. “The success, the trauma, the power, the contradictions… all of it. He might not like every single thing that’s said, but I think he’ll respect the scope of it. It’s honest. It’s complete.”

He shared why he wanted to make the series

While many people have distanced themselves from Combs, few have been as vocally against him as Jackson. He shared why he thinks this is.

“Well, he’s a big part of the culture, and he made it to a respectable position within the culture. So any smart person would pick their fights and say, ‘It’s not my business, so why say something?’” he said. “I was comfortable saying stuff about him because I’ve been saying it for 20 years.”

He said he has never feared Combs like other people might.

“Those people may have had scenarios that make them fearful of him,” Jackson said. “I’ve been through more extreme things than these people. He’s never done anything to me. Maybe it’s because I’m a little more rough around the edges — they know that I’m going to meet your aggression.”
