For years, 50 Cent has been trolling Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. His recent work on a Netflix documentary about the disgraced music mogul feels like the ultimate trolling. The music artist insists it is not, and that he actually doesn’t have any beef with Diddy. 50 Cent has long admitted that he simply finds Diddy weird, and that, while he’s made him uncomfortable, Diddy hasn’t actually done anything to him. Recently, he’s discussed Diddy and the documentary he executive-produced. You might be shocked to learn that 50 Cent thinks Diddy’s lawyers are “bad people,” and it’s not because they represented the disgraced mogul.

50 Cent thinks Diddy should pay for what he’s done wrong. He has maintained that the expressed goal of Sean Combs: The Reckoning was to pull back the curtain and expose how pop culture influenced and drove Diddy’s rise and his fall. While 50 doesn’t like Diddy, he also seems to have some empathy for the disgraced mogul. In a recent interview, he said he believes Diddy’s legal team misled him and that they are “bad people.”

In a chat with Us Weekly, 50 Cent suggested Diddy beat the most serious charges against him by pure luck. He isn’t willing to give the attorneys who worked the case any credit and believes they were bad people who largely misled their client. 50 Cent noted that Diddy was crying when he was sentenced because he truly believed he was going to head home. 50 argues that the music moguls’ own legal team planted the idea in his head and led him to truly believe he would not serve additional time for his crimes. He notes that Diddy’s money is dwindling, and the pricey legal team may have taken advantage of the rapper’s desperation.

Who defended Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs at his sex trafficking and racketeering trial?

50 Cent stands by his assessment that Diddy’s lawyers are bad people. They are also pretty successful in their field. The music mogul assembled a team of high-profile, well-regarded lawyers who had handled serious cases before. Marc Agnifilo led the team, largely due to his experience with controversial clients. Agnifilo led the defense for Keith Raniere and worked on the “Pharma Bro” case.

Teny Geragos, whose father is a celebrity attorney, stepped in to handle the opening statement. She is considered a rising star in her field. Brian Steel and Xavier Donaldson were added to the team in 2025. Steel had experience in racketeering defense, having represented Young Thug on similar charges. Alexandra Shapiro was also deeply involved in the defense, with the team heavily relying on her background in federal cases.

Anthony Ricco, a well-known attorney to high-profile clients, was initially attached to the case, too. Ricco, however, withdrew from the case in early 2025, claiming he could not effectively provide counsel. Ricco has not spoken any further about his reason for quitting.

Diddy is currently serving a 50-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix. He is expected to be released in May 2028.
