A Car from the 1950s Ignited Devin Booker’s Love of Collecting
Devin Booker’s on-the-court performance and off-the-court love life have been topics of conversation in recent weeks. With his on-again-off-again romance with Kendall Jenner and a packed NBA schedule, you wouldn’t think the Phoenix Suns point guard would have time for much else. As it turns out, however, he has a wide range of interests. Booker is an avid car collector, and he once revealed that a classic car sparked his interest in the hobby. He has since amassed a fleet that contains some unexpected vehicles.
The car that started Devin Booker’s collection is a classic
Devin Booker can be found tooling around town in his modern rides. He owns a Ferrari 488 Spider, a Lamborghini Urus, and a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which he uses for everyday drives and for his offseason travels. While they are certainly gorgeous cars, they aren’t particularly unique among NBA stars. Devin Booker’s car collection deviates from the norm with the classic cars he keeps in his rotation. A domestic ride from the 1950s is among his prized possessions, and it’s the car that started it all.
During a 2021 chat with GQ, Devin Booker revealed that he has a difficult time picking a favorite car. He told the outlet that asking him to pick a favorite ride was like asking a parent to pick a favorite child. While he advised against the practice, he did admit to the outlet that a 1959 Chevy Impala is the car he highlights the most. Booker revealed that the all-original Impala is the car that sparked his interest in car collection. As it turns out, the car Booker calls “Pretty Penny” is Kendall Jenner’s favorite ride, too.
Devin Booker’s collection includes several other domestic classics
While Devin Booker’s car collection is robust, he is doing things differently than other NBA players; he is purchasing domestic cars that hold meaning for him, rather than chasing after modern models. While other players, like Luka Doncic, have set their eyes on electric performance cars, Booker likes American “boats” and trucks.
Along with his affinity for the Impala, Booker also enjoys the performance of Corvettes, helping Chevy introduce the Corvette Z06 a few years ago. His love of Chevy is a theme in his collection. He owns a 1970s-era Chevy Blazer K5, which he affectionately calls Uncle Larry, and can be spotted around Phoenix in a 1960s Chevy Impala from his birth year, as well as a GMC truck. Booker once suggested an affinity for classic domestic cars was in his roots, having been born in Michigan. He isn’t sticking to just General Motors, though. Booker once suggested he had his eye on a Lincoln Continental similar to the one driven by Vinny Chsae in Entourage, but it’s unclear if he made that dream a reality just yet.
