A Cute Instagram Exchange Has Fans Wondering if Selena Gomez Is in the Middle of Filming a New Movie
Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez are newlyweds, tying the knot in late September. The couple enjoyed a bit of downtime immediately following their nuptials. Now, it appears Gomez is back on the road, and Blanco is clearly missing his wife. An exchange on Gomez’s Instagram profile between Blanco and a famous author seems to indicate what project the actor and singer is working on now.

Benny Blanco wants the world to know how much he loves his wife, and how much he misses her when she’s gone for work or for play. Recently, Gomez took to Instagram to upload a series of photos showing her in an unidentified, but beautiful location. The photo dump lacked a caption but included images of Gomez enjoying some downtime with nature and several other women.
While other uploads suggest the Hollywood icon was enjoying a little girl’s trip, comments on the post suggest that a little bit of work might have been baked in. Regardless of why she was away, Benny Blanco made it clear that he was missing his companion. In the comments, the music producer wrote, “Come home.” The comment elicited plenty of likes and replies. One reply in particular has fans questioning exactly what Gomez might have been up to.
A famed author responded to his plea
While Selena Gomez didn’t respond to her husband’s plea in the comments, someone else did. The famous Mountaineer and author, Silvia Vasquez Lavado, commented on Blanco’s request, telling the music producer that his love would be home soon. Fans were quick to pick up on the comment and what it might all mean for one of Gomez’s upcoming projects.
While Gomez did not reveal why she was away from home in her upload, fans now believe she was filming In the Shadow of the Mountain. The upcoming project will see her take on the role of real-life author and adventurer Silvia Vasquez Lavado. Lavado is, obviously, also signed on to the project. IMDb has the project listed as in “pre-production” despite chatter about the film starting years ago. Still, fans wonder if Lavado’s comments mean things are moving along.
In the Shadow of the Mountain isn’t Gomez’s only upcoming project, though. She’s also working on Spiral, a thriller about an influencer whose addiction to social media has gone too far. In addition, she is also committed to Only Murders in the Building’s sixth season. The show’s sixth season will take the cast to London for filming. A release date has not yet been announced for any of her upcoming projects.
