Snoop Dogg seems to float in and out of the media over time. The veteran rapper has been embroiled in numerous controversies over the years. Drug charges, a murder trial, and sexual assault allegations have dotted the landscape of his career. He’s drawn criticism for homophobic and transphobic comments in the past. He apparently didn’t learn from those experiences. Recent comments about gay representation in movies that Snoop Dogg made during a podcast appearance are receiving backlash. A content creator has used the moment as a platform to speak out and teach.

Snoop Dogg may or may not have issued an apology for the statement

Snoop Dogg is facing criticism for recent comments. During an episode of theIt’s Giving” podcast, the veteran music artist discussed his “fear” of taking his grandchildren to the movies. He claimed the “fear” developed after watching the 2022 movie, Lightyear, with his grandson. Snoop said he found himself unprepared when his grandson had questions about same-sex relationships. The flick features a lesbian couple. He claimed he felt unprepared to answer and said the moment “f****d me up.”

This is not the first time Snoop Dogg has made inappropriate comments. Fans and followers dragged the rapper on social media more than a decade ago when he used a homophobic slur. He promptly deleted the post, but never addressed the controversy. According to Deadline, he’s not about to address the controversy now, either, despite a comment appearing to come from his social media account.

Several days after the episode went viral, a comment, seemingly from Snoop Dogg’s Instagram account, appeared on an Instagram post from Hollywood Unlocked about the situation. The mysterious comment asked people to “teach me how to learn.” According to the outlet, Snoop and his representation claim that the apology post, in which he asked people to teach him how to react, did not originate from the rapper. It allegedly didn’t come from anyone in his camp, either.

There is no information available on how the comment was posted from his official account. It remains up on the page days after it was posted. Snoop Dogg has not offered further comments on the situation. The clip about his movie-watching experience remains prominently featured on the It’s Giving podcast’s social media pages.

A gifted education teacher offers Snoop Dogg some tips on approaching gay representation in the media

Whether or not Snoop Dogg has any interest in learning from his misstep remains up for debate. Regardless of whether he wants to learn, a content creator was up for the challenge of teaching him to better react to gay representation in the media. She even came prepared with tips for discussing the topic with young children. Shortly after Snoop Dogg’s original comment went viral, Jere Chang, a gifted education teacher and content creator from Georgia, stepped forward. She took to social media to offer Snoop and anyone else who might be interested some valuable tips. Chang uploaded the video to Instagram on August 26. The same video is also featured on YouTube and TikTok.

Chang, who often features her wife and two sons in her social media videos, shared that her family just wants to “exist” like everyone else. With just a hint of snark, the teacher delivered a compassionate rundown of how Snoop can approach topics related to same-sex marriages. She also discussed how to teach kids about different ways families are formed. She noted that it is no different than explaining where babies come from when a heterosexual couple welcomes a child together. Chang advised the rapper to “keep it simple” and to avoid the “spicy details.” Her post has amassed more than 40,00 likes and thousands of comments. Content creators and other celebrities are supporting the message.

Posting under the username MsChangGifted on all social platforms, Jere Chang shares uplifting content about her life as a teacher. Her TikTok and YouTube profiles often feature comedy skits and a running series in which her wife pranks her lunch. They are among her most popular uploads.
