The internet has not stopped buzzing about influencer Alix Earle and her rumored feud with Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper after the former seemed to dodge questions on the topic during a live interview on the TODAY show.

Earle appeared on the show on May 12 to promote the latest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition and her cover, but journalist Craig Melvin decided to take the interview in another direction and asked Earle about her reported feud with the podcaster.

In case you need a refresher, in 2023, Earle joined Cooper’s Unwell Network and launched her podcast Hot Mess. Cooper publicly praised Earle’s work ethic, and fans viewed the pair as business allies helping build a modern podcast empire.

But in early 2025, rumors of trouble between the two women began circulating. Several fans pointed out that Earle skipped Unwell’s Super Bowl party in New Orleans despite being in town for the event. Soon afterward, reports confirmed that Hot Mess was no longer part of the Unwell Network. According to some outlets, Unwell and SiriusXM gave Earle back the rights to her podcast so she could pursue other opportunities independently.

At first, neither of the ladies directly addressed the situation. Earle posted a TikTok saying she did not know “what’s going on,” while Cooper commented online that Earle’s inability to continue podcasting “had nothing to do with Unwell.” Soon after, Reddit threads and other social media exploded with theories as some users believed the split was mutual and others accused both sides of quietly fueling drama for attention.

Their reported rift became more public in April 2026 when Cooper posted a TikTok directly calling out Earle. Cooper accused Earle of making passive-aggressive reposts and encouraged her to “just say” what the issue was instead of hinting at conflict online. Several outlets described that video as the clearest acknowledgment yet that their relationship had deteriorated. So Melvin must have thought he could get more out of Earle while on live TV.

But that didn’t happen, and now an expert is weighing in on Earle’s demeanor and how she responded when asked about Cooper and what that says about the feud.

Inbaal Honigman is a celebrity psychic and body language expert. She has appeared in the media for more than 20 years, offering her expertise and predictions for several outlets, including Big Brother’s Little Brother, Elle Magazine, and talkSPORT radio, to name a few.

Speaking on behalf of Casino.ca, Honigman told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Earle’s appearance on the TODAY show on May 12 exposes her dishonesty in full view. She doesn’t even try to disguise her insincerity. Earle’s arms are crossed, indicating that she is feeling defensive and is absolutely not keen to share her views honestly.

“Her shoulders are tense and tight, narrowing her frame and making it seem as if she’s trying to disappear. She’d rather not engage with the question. While Melvin talks, Earle watches him with her lips and teeth parted, indicating that she’d rather speak than listen.”

The expert continued, “Earle’s smile, when she says ‘I love everyone’, is very insincere. Her lips are smiling, but her teeth are clamped shut, as if she’s hiding something, and her eyes are looking down, a little condescendingly.

“Then, laughing at her own joke, she gazes sideways at Melvin, as if they’re both sharing a secret. But it’s not really a secret at all; she was being duplicitous when saying that she loves everyone. The subtext was that she doesn’t love Alex Cooper at all.”

Showbiz Cheat Sheet acknowledges that conditions and cultures can impact body language and is sensitive to all backgrounds.
