90 Day Fiancé fans saw their first throuple of the franchise, and it sure was explosive. The recent season followed Matt and Amani Jlassi as they navigate turning their monogamous marriage into a functioning throuple with Any Aguirre. Things were often tense. Troubling dynamics and complicated legalities made their storyline especially complex. Still, it seems they’ve worked it out. Matt and Amni are preparing to divorce to bring Any into the fold.

Who is the ’90 Day Fiancé’ throuple?

Matt and Amani Jlassi have been married for ten years, raising two young daughters in San Diego. In 2024, during a vacation in Mexico, they met Any Aguirre through a bartender. A hookup led to a deep connection, prompting them to form the show’s first throuple.

The relationship isn’t a polygamist one, like the Brown family from Sister Wives. Instead, they formed a mutual triad. As expected, complications did arise. Amani and Any spent much of the most recent season butting heads and acting jealous toward one another. Trust and boundaries were a serious concern, with Amani claiming she felt “blindsided” by many of Any’s actions, including her sexual relationship with Matt. Any, often defensive, appeared completely turned off by Amani and the connection Amani and Matt shared. Matt remained conflicted for most of the season but often sided with Amani, further highlighting the imbalanced relationship structure.

Matt and Amani have moved forward with divorce proceedings

Matt, Amani, and Any’s relationship was more complicated than that of other couples for a variety of reasons. Complicated dynamics were just one issue. Their “throuple” status made immigration issues even more complex than they typically are. For Any to move to the United States, Matt and Amani would need to be divorced so one of them can marry Any, granting her the right to stay in the United States.

Fans of the series felt reasonably certain that wasn’t going to happen, based on the way the tell-all went. Apparently, the trio has worked it all out behind closed doors. Matt and Amani recently sat down for a chat with Swoon and revealed they are moving forward with plans to bring Any to the United States. They indicated that they had filed all the necessary paperwork to dissolve their marriage. Still, they did not reveal if they are legally divorced or which one of them plans to make things legal with Any.
