In September 2025, the LAPD found the body of a  14-year-old girl inside the trunk of a Tesla registered to D4vd, an R&B artist who rose to fame on TikTok. While netizens have spent months combing through photos they believe connect the arist to the deceased teen, an arrest has not been made. Well, D4vd hasn’t been arrested in connection with the murder, at least. Montana police just assisted the LAPD by bringing in Neo Langston, one of the musician’s associates. His arrest is connected to the case, but not in the way you might think.

Who is Neo Langston

Neo Langston is categorized by some as an aspiring streamer, though his followings on both Twitch and Instagram are relatively small. Most of his fame, as of late, comes from his friendship with D4vd. Langston, who streamed under the name NeoTheAsian, has addresses in both California and New York, though he was spotted often in photos with D4vd. D4vd never spoke about his connection to the streamer. Still, online sleuths believe Langston was part of his inner circle.

Neo, along with many other people who made up D4vd’s social circle, no longer follows D4vd on social media. D4vd, for his part, no longer follows Langston, either. It is unclear exactly when they stopped following each other on social media. Disconnected from D4vd digitally has not helped him avoid the murder investigation swirling around him, though.

Why was Neo Langston arrested?

On January 23, Neo Langston was arrested in Helena, Montana, on an out-of-state warrant. According to several outlets, Langston was arrested for failing to appear as a witness. Based on information obtained by TMZ, the streamer was expected to testify in front of a grand jury about Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s death, but failed to appear in court. Instead, it seems, he left the state of California entirely. He is being held without bail. The next legal steps for the streamer remain unclear.

A grand jury has been hearing evidence since December and has reportedly spoken with several people associated with D4vd. Getting everyone into the courtroom, however, has apparently been a bit of a battle. Reports of uncooperative witnesses surfaced as early as December 2025.

Could another arrest be on the way?

While Langston’s arrest is the biggest update in the case in months, it might not be the last arrest of a witness. Several weeks ago, TMZ reported that a female witness had failed to appear as required. At the time, the outlet suggested legal action might be taken against the uncooperative witness, but they failed to name names. While it’s possible that the publication’s source had the gender of the witness wrong, it’s equally possible that a second witness is failing to cooperate with the investigation. If that’s the case, a second arrest of this type could be in the works.

Whether an arrest warrant will be issued for D4vd in connection with Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s murder remains unknown. A grand jury is still meeting on the matter and will need to speak with the uncooperative witnesses before making a recommendation. It could take several more weeks for the group to make a final recommendation.

Throughout the investigation, D4vd has remained quiet. He has not made a public statement and remains quiet on social media.
