Astrologer Richard James has some serious questions about the short-term duo and remains completely unconfident about their prospects together. That is bad news for fans who like them together, but good news for fans who have questioned the pairing from the beginning.
James told TMZ that because Sydney Sweeney’s Mars and Venus are both in Scorpio, she requires an intense love that is both private and emotionally safe. He went on to contend that Braun and Sweeney just don’t align astrologically, which leads him to question what their recent romance is really all about. James suggests that Sweeney and Braun might be business partners rather than romantic partners.
Regardless of what the duo actually is, it might not last long. James says Sweeney will be undergoing some pretty significant changes, according to her chart. Shaking things up might lead her to shake off her newest romantic partner, too.
Who has she dated before?
Richard James noted in his TMZ reading that Sydney Sweeney likes to keep her private life private. That doesn’t mean she hasn’t had a public relationship before Scooter Braun. Sweeney had an extremely long-term and serious relationship that ended just last year. Before linking up with Braun, Sweeney was engaged to Jonathan Davino.
The former flames met in 2018 and began dating shortly after. By 2022, they announced their engagement and appeared on track to walk down the aisle. The former duo even worked together, producing films like Anyone But You and Immaculate together. A wedding was reportedly planned for the Spring of 2025. It never happened. In May, Sweeney confirmed she and Davino had split, though sources claim the breakup occurred sometime in January 2025. In July 2025, rumors surfaced that she might have linked up with Orlando Bloom following his split from Katy Perry. There was never confirmation of that.
