When new revelations about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s association and links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were made public in the latter half of 2025, King Charles stripped his younger brother of his royal titles and evicted him from his Royal Lodge residence.

Then on Feb. 19, 2026, police arrested Andrew for suspicion of misconduct in public office, also related to his friendship with Epstein. This led to a statement from the king that read: “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair, and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.

“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”

Andrew was released from custody after 11 hours and is now basically confined to his home as he’s been told he cannot go outside for his favorite pastime.

According to The Sun, the disgraced royal family member has been banned from going horseback riding on the grounds of his new home in Norfolk. Horseback riding is something Andrew loved to do and a pastime he never gave up amid his fall from grace. Some found it appalling that he was actually photographed on horseback smiling and laughing during his final days at Royal Lodge. Well now, he’s been told he can forget doing that ever again because it’s a “bad look.”

The publication reported, “He is now effectively housebound with just his dogs for company — including two of his late mother’s corgis.”

As a source said, “Since his arrest, he has been ordered not to go horse riding. It’s considered a bad look. They don’t think he should be seen grinning and smiling on his horse like he was in Windsor. But it was one of the few things he actually enjoyed doing so what on earth is he going to do with his time?”

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s New Neighbors Speak Out After Police Showed Up at Estate to Arrest Him

Last year, Andrew voluntarily surrendered his gun licence to authorities, which effectively ended his shooting hobby.

The Palace announced in October that Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, would have to leave the 30-room, 99-acre Royal Lodge estate they shared. However, no moving date was given at the time and it seemed that Andrew was taking his good old time packing up his stuff and getting out.

Then, in late January, when another batch of Epstein files in which he and Sarah were both mentioned numerous times, Andrew fled Royal Lodge under the cover of darkness and was taken to his temporary Wood Farm residence in Sandringham. He is expected to move into his new full-time home, Marsh Farm, sometime in April when renovations are complete.

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing regarding his relationship with Epstein, but has not made any public comments since his arrest.
