Police descended on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s Sandringham home and arrested King Charles’ brother on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Authorities arrived at Andrew’s temporary home in Norfolk on the morning of Feb. 19 and took him into custody.

Following his arrest, the king released a statement that read, “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair, and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.

“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”

Prince William and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) are said to support the monarch’s statement.

The ex-prince has continued to deny any wrongdoing and left the police station 11 to 12 hours after he was brought in.

The day of Andrew’s arrest is also his 66th birthday. But there weren’t celebrations to mark the day this year and for the first time in several years, he didn’t spend it with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. The two divorced in back in 1996 but began living together at Royal Lodge in 2008. Sarah had shared the home with Andrew until recently, when they were both evicted amid the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files and their past association with the late convicted sex offender.

Since the disgraced royal’s arrest, some have wondered about Fergie and where she is. The former Duchess of York had been searching for a new home after she was ordered to leave Royal Lodge and it was reported that she wouldn’t be moving to Sandringham with Andrew.

Sarah Ferguson Makes Creepy Comment About Daughter Princess Eugenie in Emails to Jeffrey Epstein

Royal biographer Andrew Lownie — who authored the book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York — told the Mirror that he suspected Sarah had fled the U.K. and believed she may have been staying on Necker Island, which is Richard Branson’s private island in the Caribbean.

However, a Virgin Group spokesperson has confirmed that this is not the case, saying: “Sir Richard has had no contact with Sarah Ferguson following the release of the Epstein files and, contrary to some media reports, can confirm she is not on Necker Island.”

Some have also opined that Fergie could be at her sister, Jane Ferguson Luedecke’s residence in Australia. The siblings are thought to be close, and Jane even traveled to the U.K. in October following more revelations of Sarah’s involvement with Epstein.

However, it’s most likely that Sarah is staying with one of her daughters at the moment. Her oldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, has been keeping a low profile in recent weeks, so it would make sense for Sarah to stay with the princess and her husband at their Cotswolds home to maintain privacy during this time. Fergie could also be staying with Princess Eugenie, who owns a home in Portugal. Sarah was spotted spending time with her younger daughter in the UAE earlier this month when Eugenie traveled there for work.
