Fans of RHONY have expressed disappointment in the past several seasons of the show. Cohen said they should get excited about season 16.
“I would like to tell you that I’m so excited about the cast of The Real Housewives of New York,” he said on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. “We have been working on this for a while. … Everyone wants everything now, and that’s why everybody was asking about Miami, like, ‘When is it coming back? And why aren’t you shooting it and da da da da da,’ and it’s like, and even Jersey. You know, it’s like, we want to get it right.”
Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank, and Sąi de Silva will return to the show. It will also add newcomers Hailey Glassman, Erika Hammond, and Daisy Toye. Cohen said they only wanted to move forward with the new season when the cast felt right.
“We almost did something with New York last year, and then we had a group convo and we were like, ‘You know what? We are not all there yet,’ and there were some people that are in the cast now that are still in the cast, new people, but then we found new new people.”
Carole Radziwill, who was part of the OG cast, will return to the show as a “friend of.” Cohen said this will feel natural because she is actually a friend of Lichy.
“I think I took her out for coffee … in December or January, and proposed that she be a friend. She was very Radzi about it. She was very analytical. You know, she’s gotten to be pals with Erin and Abe [Lichy], so they actually are legitimate friends, and she had all kinds of questions about what does that mean and all this, and she thought about it.”
He also teased a possible appearance by Martha Stewart.
“Daisy’s been Martha Stewart’s makeup artist for many years and Martha loves her,” he said. “And so, I’m hoping we see a little Martha. I’m really excited.”
The next season of RHONY is expected in late 2026 or early 2027.
