Joseph Duggar might not have had many visitors while he sat in a Washington County, Arkansas, jail cell for nearly two weeks, but he was certainly receiving a lot of correspondence. Now released email between Joseph Duggar and his very large family shows he had plenty of support. He even received legal advice from multiple family members, including Anna Duggar. The mother of seven certainly seems supportive of her accused brother-in-law, relying on her experience as the wife of a convict to give him some suggestions.

Who emailed Joseph Duggar while he was incarcerated?

Several Duggar family members have stepped forward to condemn Joseph Duggar’s alleged actions. Jason Duggar even used social media to call his big brother evil, and the Dillards used their family blog to show their support for Joseph’s alleged victim. While a few family members are condemning Joseph, he apparently has lots of support, too. A Reddit user shared files obtained through a FOIA request that show he connected with several supportive family members during his early days in jail.

Jailhouse call records indicate he spoke only to Kendra Caldwell and a management company by phone while in a Washington County lockup, but that wasn’t his only means of communication. Joseph received several emails while in solitary confinement. Anna Duggar, the wife of disgraced Joshua Duggar, was quick to email Joseph and even put money on his books. Austin Forsyth, Joy-Anna Duggar’s husband, sent him a message, too. Jim Bob Duggar, who is listed as James Duggar in the email exchange, offered his son words of encouragement and family updates in a lengthy message. While Jim Bob claimed Joseph’s brothers and sisters were helping out, none of them reached out.

Anna Duggar is leaning on her experience as the wife of a convicted sex offender to offer odd support to Joseph Duggar. In an email obtained by a Reddit user, Anna advises her brother-in-law not to speak about anything legal while on the phone or via email while incarcerated. She writes that recorded calls and messages can and will be given to prosecutors.

Aside from legal advice, Anna also offered financial support. The former reality TV star, who is now working as a dog breeder, told Joseph that she put money on his books so he could get necessities and some comforts while in jail. While she wasn’t entirely sure how long he’d be behind bars, she made it clear she was ready to support him and his wife.

Anna does have plenty of experience dealing with the prison system. Her husband,d Josh Duggar, was convicted of possessing and receiving child pornography back in 2021. He is currently serving a 12-year sentence at FCI Seagoville in Texas.
