Ariana Grande’s Fans Think Her Promises to Fix Tour Prices Are ‘Empty Words’: ‘I Don’t Really Buy It’
Tickets to Ariana Grande’s upcoming tour recently went on sale, and fans are finding themselves facing shockingly high prices. Grande opted out of dynamic pricing for her tour, which fans appreciated, but tickets are available for resale at staggering costs. Grande told fans she’s working on a solution, but many fans have expressed frustration with what they believe is just an attempt at damage control.
Ariana Grande responded to fan frustration over the cost of her tour
Grande will embark on her Eternal Sunshine tour in the summer of 2026. Tickets sold out almost immediately and are now only available for resale at inflated prices. Fans have expressed dismay at the high costs of attendance — many tickets are available for well over $1,000 — and Grande addressed their concerns.
“hi my angels, i have been on set all week but i wanted to let you know that what’s been happening with the secondary ticket resellers has been brought to my attention and of course i am incredibly bothered by it,” Grande wrote in a message on her Instagram story. “i’ve been on the phone every second of my free time fighting for a solution. i hear you and hopefully, we will be able to get more of these tickets into your hands instead of theirs. it’s not right.”
She promised that she and her team were doing their best to remedy the situation.
“i just wanted you to know that my team and i see it and that i care very much and we will do, and are doing, everything we can,” she wrote. “i love you so much and thank you for your patience and understanding.”
Fans aren’t buying Ariana Grande’s apology about the tour ticket prices
While some fans have expressed gratitude for Grande’s message, others have doubts.
“Eh. I don’t really buy it. A handful of megatours from big pop artists have made these Ticketmaster schemes very common knowledge,” wrote one Reddit user. “I don’t really believe AG just walked blindly into her contract with them not knowing how it’s been going for everyone else. I just think the negative attention is making her rethink.”
Many expressed their belief that Grande knew tickets would be available to resale, but didn’t expect this level of fan frustration.
“[S]he definitely knew about it but probably figured it wouldn’t be a big deal,” wrote another person. “I think Ticketmaster serves a valuable role as the greedy villain in these situations, so artists can appear uninvolved. There is no way Ariana Grande doesn’t know how the last several massive pop artist tours went.”
Concertgoers have long been complaining about high ticket prices every time major artists go on tour. As a result, many people believed it was impossible that Grande and her team didn’t anticipate this.
“Empty words now that she’s facing a backlash,” wrote one person. “She’s not new to this.”
Fans say artists should do more to control resale prices
Some artists, like Billie Eilish, have taken steps to ensure their tickets aren’t sold at inflated prices.
“The artist wants to give fans, not scalpers, the best chance to buy tickets at face value,” said Ticketmaster on Eilish’s ticket pages. “To help achieve this, the tour will be using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange where, if needed, you can resell your ticket to other fans at the original price paid.”
Fans have wondered why other artists haven’t followed suit.
“For ed sheeran’s tour, if you sold your ticket it had to be returned to ticketmaster and resold for the same price. I think billie eilish and oasis had similar terms,” wrote one person. “No hate to [Grande] but yeah i don’t really buy this ‘you guys are in a crisis. i’m on my way!’ i think her/her team were obviously aware of the terms and didn’t think it’d be a big deal so now they’re trying to do damage control.”
