Aubrey O’Day said it doesn’t matter if she forgives Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
A witness affidavit claims that Combs sexually assaulted O’Day. The Danity Kane singer has no memory of the incident, but said the affidavit left her with many concerns.
When asked about whether she has considered forgiving Combs, O’Day dodged the question. She doesn’t think it matters if she chooses to forgive him.
“Do I forgive him? I don’t think that matters to the bigger picture,” she said, per CBS News. “I think that he needs to do the work to forgive himself.”
She said her primary focus was on forgiving herself.
“I forgive myself. That was the hard one,” she said. “The feelings that I’ve had throughout all of this really come down to, like, forgiving myself for misplacing abuse, or attention, or acknowledgment as love. Those weren’t one in the same. And so I had to forgive myself first.”
Moving forward, O’Day said she wants to support survivors and push for changes in the entertainment industry.
