Baker Mayfield and his Wife Announce Off-Season Plans: Baby #2 Is on the Way
Baker Mayfield has made some significant changes in the last year. He sold his home in Texas to become a full-time resident of Tampa Bay. He celebrated his daughter’s 1st birthday in April and marked his sixth wedding anniversary, too. While 2025 has been eventful, 2026 is shaping up to be just as packed with milestones. At the very least, Baker Mayfield and his wife, Emily Wilkinson, have one big thing to look forward to in the spring; they are welcoming a new baby.
Baby #2 is on the way for Baker Mayfield and his wife
Baker Myfield and Emily Wilkinson will be pretty busy come spring. The couple just announced on Instagram that they are expecting their second child together, due during the NFL off-season. The announcement, which featured a carousel of photos, was full of information. The first photo opened with the couple’s 19-month-old daughter holding a sonogram photo while wearing a “Big Sis” sweater.
The second photo captured the young family, including their rescue dog, Fergus, as they found out the gender of the new addition. The caption shared that Baker and Emily Mayfield are expecting a baby boy in April 2026, making the latest addition and their daughter Kova two years apart in age. There is no word yet on what the couple plans to name baby #2.
How did Baker and Emily Mayfield meet?
Baker Mayfield met his now-wife, Emily Wilkinson, back in 2017, but it wasn’t love at first sight for Wilkinson. During an interview following their 2019 nuptials, Wilkinson recalled that Mayfield had invited her to watch him play in the Rose Bowl back in 2017. She said, at the time, she assumed Mayfield was like other athletes she had met. She had already written him off as a playboy when she finally got to know him.
The rest was history. While the couple met in 2017 and were in a long-distance romance, she packed up and moved to Cleveland when he was drafted by the Browns; they were engaged by then. They wed in 2019 and have since embarked on a journey across the NFL together. They welcomed their first daughter together in April 2024. Now, they are planning their next off-season project, all while Mayfield finds a long-term home with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
