Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez broke off their engagement in 2004 only to get married nearly two decades later. After under three years of marriage, though, they divorced. Affleck and Lopez finalized their divorce in early 2025. Since then, they got friendly on the red carpet at the premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman. While many of their fans hoped to see a reunion, this is unlikely to happen.

While they are on good terms, they know that could change if they were to reenter a romantic relationship. They’re better off when things are platonic between them.

“There’s still a lot of love between them, but they both understand they shouldn’t be married,” a source said.

Lopez, in particular, has thrived after the divorce. She said that while it was painful to navigate, she has come to see it as a good thing.

“Jen feels more comfortable in her skin than ever,” another source noted. “There’s a sense of independence and peace about her. She’s in a really good headspace right now.”

For now, she is hoping to remain single.
