Lopez and Affleck chatted and posed together on the red carpet at the premiere for Kiss of the Spider Woman. This is their first time out in public together since they finalized their divorce. Surprisingly, they seemed to be on good terms. A source close to Lopez said the former couple gets along better now that they’ve finalized their divorce.

“They like each other so much more when they’re not married to each other,” they told Page Six.

The source claimed that this is because their dynamic collapses when they try to get too close to each other.

“They each have roles to play with each other— she’s the glamorous, gorgeous diva superstar on a pedestal, he’s the roguish cad who keeps her at a distance to maintain sexual tension,” the source said. “As long as they are each playing their parts, they’re perfect. The minute they try to be anything more than that — especially something as pedestrian as husband and wife — it’s so doomed.”

At the premiere, Affleck spoke glowingly about Lopez’s performance, and she thanked him for producing the movie.
