Bethenny Frankel’s Nurse Jamie Product Drama Explained
Bethenny Frankel is known for sharing honest product reviews on Instagram. While it’s usually all fun and games with chicken salad critiques and advent calendar unboxings, things took a weird turn earlier this week. Frankel was injured while using a facial contouring product she bought after being influenced. The incident has gone viral, with followers wondering whether she plans to sue the company. We’ve broken down exactly what went down.
Bethenny Frankel was injured while using a facial cupping tool
Bethenny Frankel took to Instagram last week to share footage of herself using a facial cupping tool she ordered after seeing an influencer use it. Frankel, who bought the product from celebrity-backed company Nurse Jamie, was using the tool to contour her jawline when the glass tubing broke. As Frankel pulled the device across her skin, the sharp shards cut her face. The tool consists of a bulb and a glass tube that creates suction. Facial cupping is supposed to have lymphatic drainage and contouring benefits. Frankel claimed she purchased the tool to alleviate jaw tightness.
According to Frankel, the item did not appear damaged when she removed it from the box. Based on video footage, it appears to have broken during treatment. She went on to share the actual video of the injury occurring. The former Bravo star told her social media followers that she quickly cleaned the area, hoping the incident would not lead to facial scarring. Thus far, Frankel appears to be healing fine, and the injuries were only minor. She did voice concern about what could have happened had she been contouring a more delicate area, such as her neck.
Did Nurse Jamie respond?
After the initial incident, Frankel returned to social media to say she had not heard from the company and had not received an apology. Jamie Sherrill, the skincare expert and nurse behind the product line, took to her own social media to claim that she had reached out to Frankel directly and was hoping to better understand the incident. Sherrill did not apologize during her own social media post, either.
Frankel later admitted she did receive a DM, but it clearly was not to her liking. Despite that, the former reality TV star insists she has no plans on pursuing legal action. She joked that doing the “lord’s work,” which is what she jokingly considers her online reviews, is “risky” business. It is unclear whether the Nurse Jamie team will take a closer look at the product. We don’t know if additional injuries have been reported. Frankel’s reviews will continue. Still, she insists that the incident will make her think more carefully about what she is using in the future.
