In a series of posts to her Instagram Stories, Eilish shared information and comments about ICE. In one of the posts, she shared a photo of herself with the caption, “Hey, my fellow celebrities u gonna speak up? Or…”
She also shared a screenshot of a post calling out adults who aren’t politically engaged, and a post slamming “free speech podcast comics” who haven’t commented on the recent ICE shootings.
Eilish also highlighted a post by her brother, Finneas, about the killing of Alex Pretti in Minnesota. She accused TikTok of suppressing the video. Eilish also shared a post describing Pretti as an American hero.
Eilish often speaks up about current events. She is far from the only celebrity to have spoken up about ICE, though. At the Golden Globes, Mark Ruffalo spoke about the ICE killing of Renee Goode. Other stars, including Natalie Portman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Amanda Seyfried, Pedro Pascal, Edward Norton, and Olivia Rodrigo, have condemned ICE and the Trump administration.
