Billionaire Beyoncé Once Said ‘No Amount of Money’ Was Worth Her Peace
Beyoncé recently became the fifth musician billionaire. The singer’s business ventures, music, and massively successful tours pushed her into a new level of wealth. Of course, Beyoncé has been wealthy for years, and her husband, Jay-Z, has been a billionaire since 2019. She has accumulated increasing amounts of capital over the years, but she once said she would never risk her peace for money.

A recent report from Forbes confirmed that Beyoncé is now a billionaire. She joins her husband, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Bruce Springsteen in the ranks of musician billionaires.
Beyoncé has a number of business ventures, including the hair care brand Cécred, clothing line Ivy Park, and the Parkwood Entertainment company. Most of her wealth, however, comes from her music career. In 2025, her Cowboy Carter tour was the highest-grossing of the year.
“Across any category of the entertainment industry, there is practically no enterprise more lucrative than a musician who can sell out stadiums,” Forbes noted.
Beyoncé’s music career spans several decades, and she has been performing at arenas for years.
The singer once said wealth wasn’t worth sacrificing her peace
While Beyoncé’s business ventures pad her wealth, she said she doesn’t want to stretch herself too thin to make music.
“I am a musician first,” she told GQ. “It has always been my priority. I didn’t get into anything that could take away from my artistry until I felt I was solidified as a master at my first love, music.”
She said her priorities lie in making music and having a normal life for herself and her family. She said she won’t let the pursuit of wealth get in the way of that.
“One thing I’ve worked extremely hard on is making sure my kids can have as much normalcy and privacy as possible, ensuring my personal life isn’t turned into a brand,” she said. “It’s very easy for celebrities to turn our lives into performance art. I have made an extreme effort to stay true to my boundaries and protect myself and my family. No amount of money is worth my peace.”
Beyoncé and Jay-Z are now both billionaires
In 2019, Jay-Z was the first musician to become a billionaire. Even before Beyoncé also reached this tier of wealth, they were the richest celebrity couple of 2025. Their joint net worth is over $3 billion. Despite this, Jay-Z has also said that his primary focus is not making money.
“That’s not the endgame. It’s not about who got more money and who got more houses. Yes, you know, you’ve earned it, buy what you want,” he told The New York Times, adding, “But don’t forget what’s important. Without people, being rich would be very boring.”
He believed that there was no point to wealth without having other people around him.
“No one to share with, no one to have … You know what I mean?” he asked. “You’d just be a rich person, one person on the planet — just, like, well then what do you do?”
