Megan Thee Stallion recently won a lawsuit she filed against Texas blogger Milagro Cooper. Megan said that after Tory Lanez shot her in 2020, Cooper worked with him to conduct an online smear campaign against her. A jury sided with Megan, agreeing that Cooper defamed and harassed the rapper. Still, Cooper said she sees the outcome as a win for her.

Milagro Cooper feels good about the outcome of Megan Thee Stallion’s lawsuit

Megan filed a lawsuit against Cooper over content she posted after Lanez shot her. She accused Cooper of spreading rumors about her and directing followers to view a fake, sexually explicit video of her.

This month, a jury ruled in Megan’s favor and awarded her $75,000. U.S. District Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga ultimately reduced this to $59,000. Cooper said she will treat the trial as a learning experience.

“Everything is a learning lesson in life, a regret?” she told CBS News. “I hate that someone was hurt in the midst of me doing something I love.”

While the jury sided against her, Cooper said she views the outcome as a win. She didn’t have to pay the rapper as much as she might have.

“For the jury to decide that it wasn’t a multimillion dollar settlement or fining – that is a win, absolutely!” she said.

Her lawyers view the situation similarly.

“It’s not easy to take on a giant as Megan Thee Stallion in court,” defense attorney Natacha Bien-Aime said. “We’re very proud of being media defendant’s result that we got in this case. Commentators, bloggers, people online — they’re overlooked.”

Ultimately, though, Cooper noted that she still wishes the jury had ruled in her favor.
