Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are two boxing legends. And now they are set to step back in the ring to face each other in an exhibition match. The event will be put on by CSI Sports/Fight Sports and is set for spring 2026. But details regarding the exact date and location have yet to be determined.

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years, and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” Mayweather said in a news release on Sept. 4. “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”

And Tyson told ESPN, “When CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather, I thought, ‘No way this happens,’ but Floyd said yes.’ This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable — and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets. I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed and it’s happening!”

Michael Gerard Tyson was born in the Brooklyn section of New York City on June 30th, 1966.

Iron Mike began his professional boxing career when he was 18 years old, defeating Hector Mercedes via first-round TKO. In 1986, Tyson became the youngest boxer at the age of 20 to win a heavyweight title after defeating Trevor Berbick. He reigned as the undisputed world heavyweight champion until 1990. The boxing great is responsible for six of the top 54 best-selling pay-per-views ever, including his infamous rematch against Evander Holyfield, where he bit Holyfield’s ear.

The former champ has a career record of 50-6 with 44 knockouts.

Mayweather was born on Feb. 24, 1977, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, making him 10 years and seven months younger than Tyson.
