Bravo’s Biggest Relationship Scandals
Bravo stars West Wilson and Amanda Batula recently ignited scandal by announcing their relationship. Theirs is one of many Bravo romances that have sparked conversation and controversy online. Here are nine of the network’s relationship scandals that fans couldn’t stop talking about.
‘Scamanda’
After a lengthy period of speculation, Wilson and Batula released a joint statement announcing their relationship.
“As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling. We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless,” they wrote. “We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
Their new romance has scandalized Summer House fans because Wilson previously dated cast member Ciara Miller, a close friend of Batula’s. Fans have started referring to the drama as “Scamanda,” and many of them have sided with Miller.
‘Scandoval’
“Scamanda” has drawn comparisons to 2023’s “Scandoval.” Longtime Vanderpump Rules couple Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix broke up after she realized he was cheating. Sandoval had been conducting an affair with fellow cast member Raquel Leviss.
Sandoval and Madix dated for nine years before their breakup. He also helped cast member James Kennedy plan his proposal to Leviss. Adding to the drama was the fact that Sandoval and Madix’s relationship began on slightly sketchy terms. His former girlfriend, Kristen Doute, repeatedly accused them of having an affair before they officially got together.
Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor, and Stassi Schroeder
Doute found herself at the center of a separate scandal in the second season of Vanderpump Rules. Rumors circulated that she had sex with Jax Taylor, the former boyfriend of her close friend, Stassi Schroeder, while dating Sandoval. Schroeder repeatedly confronted Taylor and Doute about the rumor, which they adamantly denied.
Finally, though, Taylor cracked and admitted to it. Schroeder infamously backhanded Doute in the face at a planned confrontation.
Luann de Lesseps and Tom D’Agostino
Season eight of The Real Housewives of New York followed Luann de Lesseps through her whirlwind romance with Tom D’Agostino. The pair meet and become engaged, much to the concern of the other Housewives. During a girl’s trip, Bethenny Frankel reveals she has proof that D’Agostino has cheated on de Lesseps.
De Lesseps and D’Agostino still wed, but they divorced one year later.
Kelsey and Camille Grammer
Camille Grammer joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills because of her husband, Kelsey Grammer. During the show’s first season, he revealed he was cheating on her and wanted a divorce. Camille said she never would have joined the series if she’d known.
“Absolutely not,” she told Today. “If I had known that Kelsey and I were separating, and this was gonna happen, there’s no way I would’ve shot the show.”
Britney Cartwright and Jax Taylor
Vanderpump Rules saw many explosive cheating scandals, including the season six scandal involving Taylor and Brittany Cartwright. Cartwright learns that Taylor cheated on her with former cast member Faith Stowers.
Taylor’s infidelity was commonplace on the show by this point, but a recording of his pillow talk with Stowers made this one unforgettable. Cartwright listened to the tape during a house party where the cast, including Taylor, was present.
Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo
The breakup between Southern Charm’s Craig Conover and Summer House’s Paige DeSorbo initially seemed friendly. After he accused her of blindsiding him, though, things started to get messy.
Conover claimed he purchased an engagement ring, and DeSorbo accused him of lying. She also later revealed that she often lied to protect him during the relationship. While they were still together, she adamantly denied rumors that Conover was kicked out of Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke’s wedding. After the breakup, she admitted this was true, and that his drunken behavior mortified her.
“Honestly, I’m so uncomfortable because I’ve never had to lie in my entire life until I started dating him,” she said on Watch What Happens Live.
Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida
In 2014, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks filed for divorce from husband Apollo Nida after five years of marriage. One of the major factors contributing to the end of their marriage was Nida’s prison sentence for fraud.
The couple’s split was finalized in 2016, but a judge later overturned the ruling. They explained that Parks misspelled Nida’s name, Nida’s prison sentence made him unable to attend hearings, and he had not received finalized divorce papers or attended the final hearing.
They finalized their divorce for the second time in 2017.
Teresa and Joe Giudice
In 2015, Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa and Joe Giudice went to prison for bank, mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud. This ultimately led to the collapse of their marriage, because Teresa felt that she unfairly lost time with her mother.
“[I knew my marriage was over] when my mom passed away,” she said (per Bravo). “I was just like, I was so upset, you know? I was so devastated because I felt like I lost time with my mom, which I did.”
Joe was ultimately deported to Italy after his prison sentence.
