Britney Spears has been making big money moves in recent weeks. The troubled songstress, who dominated the pop music scene for several years in the early 2000s, has sold her music catalog. While the sale is said to be worth a lot of money, Spears’ sale isn’t even close to the most expensive music catalog deal in history. That distinction goes to Queen.

How much did Britney Spears sell her music catalog for?

Britney Spears’ 2025 didn’t look all that great, with fans deeply concerned for her mental health. While some of her social media posts were pretty chaotic, the “Lucky” singer was quietly making moves behind the scenes. TMZ has learned that Britney Spears inked a deal for her music catalog just before the end of 2025.

According to the outlet, Spears sold the rights to her music catalog, including bops like “Baby One More Time” and “Toxic”, to Primary Wave, a music publisher. The deal, believed to be worth around $200 million, matches several other big sales in recent years. She finalized the sale on December 30.

Whose music catalog sold for the most money?

While Britney Spears’ catalog sale is a massive deal in th industry, it isn’t the most money that has exchanged hands for a music catalog.
