Brooklyn Beckham has spoken his truth in a lengthy statement about his feud with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. Although rumors of a rift have been swirling for some time, Brooklyn still shocked fans with what he revealed about his famous mother and father.

In Brooklyn’s bombshell post on his Instagram Stories, the eldest Beckham child called out his mom for inappropriate behavior the day of his wedding, his brothers for “attacking” and then blocking him on social media, and his dad for only agreeing to see him alone without his wife, Nicola Peltz.

According to Brooklyn, “My parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed … For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.

“Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.

He added that for his father’s 50th birthday in May 2025, he and Peltz “were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner. When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face.”

No one knows for sure what David is thinking or feeling now after his son publicly aired out these grievances, but some are recalling a time when David admitted that something else Brooklyn said “broke his heart.”

David, who was a superstar soccer player for many years, spoke to ABC News back in 2015 about Brooklyn showing promise in the sport from a young age and spending time in Arsenal’s youth setup. But the expectations he would be held to because of who his father is was a burden Brooklyn did not want.

“I’d love them [my kids] to play soccer, but I want them to be happy doing it, you know,” David shared. “There was one thing that one of my boys turned around to me the other day, he said, ‘I’m not sure I want to play football all the time.’

“It broke my heart a little bit. He said, ‘Every time that I step onto the field, I know people are saying, you know, ‘This is David Beckham’s son,’ and if I’m not as good as you, then it’s not good enough.’ I said, ‘Okay, stop right there … You play because you want to play. You play because it makes you happy.'”

All these years later, it’s been reported that David is heartbroken again over what Brooklyn said. Insiders have shared that he and Victoria were “stunned and saddened” by their oldest son’s Instagram posts.

The sources insist that “David and Victoria love Brooklyn and are afraid of losing their son. They would take him back in a minute.” But they would prefer to reconcile with Brooklyn’s wife out of the picture.

That though is not something Brooklyn seems like he’s going to compromise on, as he wrote in his statement, “I do not want to reconcile with my family … I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose and have found peace.”
