Brooklyn Beckham ‘Couldn’t Be Happier’ With Public Reaction After Speaking Out Against Parents, Sources Say
Brooklyn Beckham surprised everyone when he publicly spoke about his feud with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. While reports of a family rift have been swirling for years, no one knew the extent of it and what caused it until Brooklyn shared those details via social media.
David and Victoria’s oldest son took to his Instagram Stories with a lengthy statement that read in part: “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”
He continued, “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.
“My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped … My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace privacy, and happiness for us and our future family.”
Days after Brooklyn’s post, he and his wife, Nicola Peltz, were seen out strolling on a beach together walking arm in arm.
Sources close to the couple shared that they have no regrets about speaking out and are “glad” they did, telling The Sun, “They couldn’t be happier with how things have panned out. They told us, ‘We’re glad we did it.’ They feel like a massive weight has been lifted off them and they’re pleased with the support they’ve received.”
The insiders added, “It’s been therapeutic to finally get things off their chests which they’ve been bottling up for years. This has just made things even clearer to him — he wants nothing more to do with his parents.”
While the family feud began back in 2022 around the time Brooklyn and Peltz tied the knot, it really caught the public’s attention when the pair did not attend David’s 50th birthday party in May 2025.
Brooklyn addressed that as well in his statement, writing, “For my dad’s birthday were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner. When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face.”
Victoria and David have not responded to Brooklyn’s claims but the former soccer star did appear on CNBC’s Squawk Box just hours after his eldest son’s post and said, “I’ve always spoke about social media and the power of social media, for the good and for the bad … But what I’ve found personally, you know, especially with my kids as well, use it for the right reasons.”
