Brooklyn Beckham Said Victoria Beckham Left Him ‘Humiliated’ by Dancing ‘Inappropriately’ at His Wedding
After a lengthy period of speculation about his relationship with his family, Brooklyn Beckham shared a bombshell statement about his relationship with David and Victoria Beckham. Brooklyn initially denied that his wedding caused a rift with his parents. In his statement, though, he claimed that his mother’s behavior left him feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed.

According to Brooklyn, his problems with his parents reached new levels after his wedding to Nicola Peltz-Beckham. In a statement posted to his Instagram account, he claimed that his mother was supposed to design his wife’s wedding dress, but canceled at the “eleventh hour.”
He also said that during the wedding, Victoria “hijacked” his first dance with Peltz-Beckham.
“In front of 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me,” he wrote. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”
Brooklyn said he and Peltz-Beckham renewed their vows in 2025 to create memories that “bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”
He previously denied any drama over the wedding
Brooklyn’s statement confirms rumors about his wedding that have circulated for years. He initially denied that the event caused any drama with his parents.
“I’ve learned they’re always going to try to write stuff like that,” he told Variety in 2022. “They’re always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good.”
Peltz-Beckham also denied that Victoria refused to give her a dress.
“I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,” she said. “She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that.”

In his statement, Brooklyn said that he does not hope to reconcile with his parents.
“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” he wrote. “Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
He accused his parents of lying and putting up a false front.
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family,” he wrote. “The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”
Brooklyn said that moving forward, he wants privacy for himself and Peltz-Beckham.
