Brooklyn Beckham Sent ‘1 of the Loudest Signals You Can’ With Absence From David Beckham’s Knighting Ceremony
Amid his ongoing estrangement from his family, Brooklyn Beckham did not attend David Beckham’s knighting ceremony. The rest of the family congratulated David on his knighthood. A body language expert said that Brooklyn’s absence spoke volumes. She believes that any chance of a reunion soon is not likely.
Brooklyn Beckham didn’t attend David Beckham’s knighting ceremony
On Nov. 4, David Beckham was knighted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle. He received his knighthood for his achievements in professional sports and his charitable work. His wife, Victoria Beckham, and parents were present at the ceremony.
His son, Romeo Beckham, posted an Instagram photo in support of his father. Notably, however, Brooklyn did not attend the ceremony or say anything about his father.
Brooklyn Beckham’s absence at David Beckham’s knighting ceremony sent a loud signal
According to body language expert Joanna Pearson from British Lie Detector Test, Brooklyn’s absence says a great deal.
“When someone is repeatedly absent from emotionally charged family milestones, it’s rarely logistical — it’s emotional,” Pearson told Showbiz Cheat Sheet in an emailed statement. “Body language isn’t just about what we see, it’s also about what’s missing. And in this case, the lack of presence, the lack of interaction, and even the lack of acknowledgment online, all point to a deep and ongoing disconnect.”
She noted that his complete lack of acknowledgement speaks volumes in this era of social media. He sent a deliberate message about his relationship with his parents.
“It’s not just that Brooklyn wasn’t in the photo — it’s that there was no gesture at all,” Pearson said. “No post, no comment, no digital nod. In modern communication, silence is one of the loudest signals you can send. It says: I’m not part of this narrative right now.”
She noted that Brooklyn demonstrated a “withdrawal of alignment” from his family. He has stayed away from several major milestones, including his father’s 50th birthday. Because of this, Pearson says she doubts we’ll see a family reunion anytime soon.
“If there was any intention to mend the rift, we’d have seen a soft signal by now — a comment, a like, a subtle tag,” she said. “The total silence across the year suggests the emotional distance remains. Unless one side makes a deliberate public gesture, I’d say the chances of a Christmas reunion photo are slim.”
The former soccer player called the ceremony an honor
After the ceremony, Beckham said that the moment was one of the highlights of his life.
“I’ve been very obviously lucky in my career to have won what I’ve won and done what I’ve done but to receive an honor like this, of a knight, is beyond anything that I ever thought that I would receive,” he said, per CNN. “To be honest, a young boy from the east end of London, born in Leytonstone, and here at Windsor Castle, being honored by His Majesty the King – the most important and the most respected institution in the world – it’s quite a moment.”
Beckham has long been a vocal supporter of the royal family.
