Brooklyn Beckham’s Statement Has Made the Rest of His Family ‘Closer Than Ever’
Brooklyn Beckham confirmed that there is a rift in his family. While he announced that he wants distance from his parents, the rest of the family has reportedly come closer together. Brooklyn’s siblings have thrown their full support behind David and Victoria Beckham amid the family feud.
Brooklyn Beckham posted a statement about his family
In an explosive statement posted to his Instagram Stories, Brooklyn accused his parents of being overly concerned about the family brand and trying to ruin his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz.
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family,” he wrote. “The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”
Before he posted the statement, some reports said David and Victoria were hoping to repair their relationship with their son. Brooklyn said he wanted nothing to do with their attempts at reconciliation.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” he wrote, adding, “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
He attended his statement with a request for privacy.
Brooklyn Beckham’s statement has reportedly brought his family closer together
While there is clearly acrimony between Brooklyn and his parents, the rest of the Beckham family has reportedly come closer together. Victoria recently received her French Knighthood, and her family, excluding Brooklyn, supported her.
“Victoria didn’t want to hide this moment in Paris,” a source told Hello Magazine. “It was bittersweet as she would have loved Brooklyn to have been there if the situation was different.”
The family has reportedly banded together during this difficult period.
“[Victoria] wants to move forward with dignity and grace,” the source said. “They’re focusing on the positives, including Victoria’s achievement and Cruz’s concert in London next month. If anything, this has all brought them closer than ever, just sadly without Brooklyn.”
Brooklyn’s siblings, particularly Cruz Beckham, have expressed wholehearted support for their parents.
His father-in-law confirmed his support
As the Beckham family bands together, Peltz’s father, Nelson, expressed his support for his son-in-law. He recently broke his silence on the drama surrounding his family.
“Has my family been in the press lately?” he joked at the Wall Street Journal Invest Live event (via People). “I haven’t noticed that at all.”
He noted that he told all his children to “stay the hell out of the press.” Following his own advice, he declined to comment on the Beckham family feud, but noted that he supports his daughter and son-in-law.
“My daughter and the Beckhams are a whole other story,” he said. “That’s not for coverage here today, but I’ll tell you my daughter’s great, my son-in-law, Brooklyn is great, and I look forward to them having a long, happy marriage together.”
Brooklyn and Nicola have been married since 2022.
