Cardi B recently came to Stefon Diggs’ defense over allegations made by his former personal chef. After Diggs’ former employee accused him of getting physical with her over a salary dispute, Cardi said she doesn’t believe the accusations. Her fans, many of whom have already criticized the relationship, did not like her response.

Cardi B defended Stefon Diggs after allegations made against him

On Dec. 30, news broke that Diggs, an NFL star, had been charged with felony strangulation and assault and battery. His former personal chef alleged that he strangled her and threw her on his bed after she spoke to him about unpaid wages. Diggs’ lawyer, David Meier, denied the allegations.

“They are unsubstantiated, uncorroborated, and were never investigated — because they did not occur,” he told Us Weekly. “The timing and motivation for making the allegations is crystal clear: They are the direct result of an employee-employer financial dispute that was not resolved to the employee’s satisfaction. Stefon looks forward to establishing the truth in a court of law.”

Cardi also defended her partner. She shared an alleged text exchange with the chef, though the context of the message was not clear.

“Not once has that woman said anything to me about being touched.. NOT ONCE!!” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Mind you, we was talking every single day until she left that house and she JUST wrote me this.. but I’m gonna let the courts handle s*** and when it gets handled I want all yall talkin s*** on your f***in knees with apologies just as loud the way yall been harassing over a lie… and I put that on my two month old son in the name of the lord!! That’s how confident I am.”

Cardi B fans aren’t happy with her defense of Stefon Diggs

Many of Cardi’s fans have been vocal in their criticism of Diggs, so her defense of him has not gone over well. To many, it did not seem surprising that the chef did not report the alleged assault to Cardi, Diggs’ romantic partner.

“Unsurprised and still grossed out,” wrote one Reddit user.

Many people took issue with the fact that Cardi said she was making the claim in the name of her infant son. She and Diggs welcomed the child in November.

“Putting anything on her 2 month old son is incomprehensible,” one person wrote. “She needs to take all this energy and spend it on her kids, not these trash men!”

“The victim not reporting an assault to the girlfriend of the perpetrator + this screenshot = nothing,” added another person. “But sure put that on your two month old son.”

Others referenced the feud Cardi had with Nicki Minaj in the fall. In one of many posts about the other rapper, Cardi slammed Minaj for having a brother who is in prison for predatory sexual assault against a child.

“[O]ne of the things you had on Nicki in yalls little arguments was not supporting abusive family members/boyfriends and here you are just being a ding dong for a guy you’ve been with for like a year,” one person wrote.

Cardi has since deleted her post in defense of Diggs.

She recently asked fans to stop criticizing her relationship

In another recent post, Cardi asked fans to stop being so critical of her relationship. Many fans have questioned why Cardi is with Diggs, as he recently had a child with another woman.

“Y’all need to calm down,” she said in a video on X. “Is y’all cool? Y’all been dragging me for three or four days and y’all been a little bit too mean. Like alright now. Y’all being a little bit too mean.”

In her video, she told fans that she couldn’t change the fact that she had a child with the football player.

“I can’t change s***,” she said, adding, “I can’t go back in time. I already had a baby. Y’all want me to put my baby back in my p****? Huh? I don’t know what y’all want me to do. Y’all want me to leave my man and f*** yours?”

Many of her fans criticized this response as well.
