Caroline Stanbury Said She Was Responsible for Getting Some of the Stars for ‘The Real Housewives of London’
When The Real Housewives of London was announced, fans of the longtime franchise assumed they’d be seeing Caroline Stanbury. I mean, the socialite seemed like a natural fit, considering she had spent years on similar reality TV shows. As the premiere of the Hayu original drew closer, it became clear that Stanbury would not appear as a main cast member. While she isn’t a London housewife, she is involved in the production on multiple levels. She has appeared as a guest and even hinted that she had a small hand in the casting for The Real Housewives of London.
Caroline Stanbury said she gave a helping hand to ‘The Real Housewives of London’ casting agents
Caroline Stanbury might not be a member of The Real Housewives of London cast, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have her hands in the pot. During a chat with Closer, Stanbury claimed she was directly involved in getting two cast members on the show. She told the publication that both Juliet Mayhew and Juliet Angus needed a little encouragement from her to sign up. She said, in particular, that Meyhew needed a real kick to be on camera.
Juliet Meyhew is an Australian who moved to the United Kingdom as a child. She lives in London with her husband and teenage children, but she is also deeply connected ot the Bravo universe. Meyhew considers Dorit Kemsley, Tinsley Mortimer, and Stanbury as friends. Kemsley is best known for her work on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Mortimer appeared on The Real Housewives of New York City, and Stanbury headlined the Dubai version of the show.
Angus is an American socialite who also appeared on The Real Housewives of Dubai as a guest. It is unclear when she moved to London, but she was born in Chicago. Angus and Meyhew are joined on the show by Amanda Cronin, Karen Loderick-Peace, Panthea Parker, and Nessie Welschinger. Caroline Stanbury didn’t mention if she had any sway in their casting.
Why isn’t she a main cast member
Caroline Stanbury seemed like a natural casting option for The Real Housewives of London. As it turns out, she was not and likely never will be a full-time part of the production. There isn’t any bad blood or anything; Stanbury’s actually not able to join the cast. Logistically, it just doesn’t make sense.
While Stanbury spent almost her entire first marriage living in Surrey, England, which would have made filming for a show like The Real Housewives of London simple, she no longer lives there. In 2016, the socialite announced that she’d be moving to Dubai. She did just that. When her first marriage ended, she remained in the West Asian country and has been there ever since. She is currently living in Dubai with her second husband, Sergio Carrallo, though she once told Bravo that their marriage probably isn’t forever.
Stanbury has no plans to move back to London, which has limited her ability to be involved in the show. She insists that that is all there is to the story. She did appear on The Real Housewives of Dubai in recent years, further proving she has set down roots in her new home.
