Over the years, Teen Mom stars have expressed frustration with the misconceptions they say viewers have about them. The parents of the stars have been critical of the show for the same reason. Some people who have appeared in the series insist they got a bad edit. Apparently, April Brockmiller, Catelynn Lowell’s mom, thinks the show did a poor job of showing the world who she really is. While Brockmilled admits to issues with alcohol, she insists she’s no “crackhead.” Her potential drug use is something viewers have debated for years.

The fate of the Teen Mom franchise remains unknown. Since MTV isn’t telling anyone what is going on, the cast and crew have taken to making their own drama online. There have been storytimes about Lil Wayne, online feuds, and absolute crashouts across multiple platforms. The main cast members aren’t the only ones getting in on the social media fun.
April Brockmiller interrupted our regularly scheduled viewing of Jenelle Evans’ storytimes and Farrah Abraham’s bold Instagram stories to dispel some of the myths about her. Brockmiller turned up on her son, Nick’s, TikTok page to answer some fan questions. She jumped right into it when a fan asked what the biggest misconception about her was. Brockmiller said that the biggest misconception was that she was a crackhead. She said everyone should “get real” before admitting she drank. She claims that’s all that was going on. Brockmiller doubled down, saying she was not a “drug addict,” or a “crackhead,” while appearing on the show. There were no follow-ups to the question, and the video moved on quickly.

While April Brockmiller insists she was not and is not currently a ‘crackhead,’ things were far from perfect in the household where Catelynn Lowell grew up with her mom. As Brockmiller notes, she drank alcohol. What she didn’t mention is that he has been arrested for driving under the influence and has had a string of legal troubles while married to Tyler Baltierra’s father, Butch Baltierra.
April seems a bit resentful about answering questions, especially those related to Teen Mom. Based on everything Brockmiller has said over the years, she has had limited interest in actually being on TV or a part of the Teen Mom universe. In the recent Q&A, she admitted that in the show’s later seasons, she was paid for her time. Still, she stated that she didn’t want to be part of the series. She revealed she only signed up because Lowell wanted to be a member of the cast.
