Lil Jon’s children are over two decades apart in age
In 1998, Lil Jon welcomed his first child, Nathan, with his former wife, Nicole Smith. Nathan, who performs as DJ Young Slade, has been pursuing a career in music since he was a child.
“[My dad] brought me to an after-party he was DJing, and I just saw him rocking the crowd. He was on the mic, and he was just playing all the jams where everybody was dancing,” he told The Quintessential Gentleman. “Telling them to put their hands up, they put their hands up, telling them to put them down, they put them down. And I was like, Oh my God, I’m so excited to be here.”
Lil Jon said he felt a swell of pride seeing his son pursue this career path.
“When my son graduated from DJ academy, I teared up to see him following in my footsteps,” he told HuffPost in 2014.
He described Nathan as “a really, really good kid” who is “well-mannered and well-behaved.”
Nearly three decades after Nathan was born, Lil Jon and his girlfriend, Jamila Sozahdah, welcomed a daughter, Nahara. They recently celebrated her first birthday.
Lil Jon spoke about wanting to be healthy for his children
Lil Jon, who is 55 years old, said having a new baby inspired him to focus on his health. He began getting in shape to appear onstage at the Super Bowl in 2024, but he wanted to maintain it for his daughter.
“I got in shape initially to look good for the Super Bowl, on that stage,” he told Billboard. “The competition I did was Venice Muscle Beach, and [my trainer] had gotten into it the year before, and he told me, ‘If we got you right, you could win this.’ So we started training after [the] Super Bowl, and for me, I just had a daughter in November.”
He explained that he wants to be able to be there when she hits milestones.
“So it’s not just about me, it’s about being here for her,” he explained. “Health was already a lifestyle change, but more so now it’s a goal for me because I wanna be here for her first day of school. I wanna be here for her high school graduation. I wanna walk her down the aisle.”
The rapper’s son, Nathan Smith, was reported missing
On Feb. 3, Nathan was reported missing in Georgia.
“Subject ran out of his house and has been missing since. Subject left on foot and does not possess a phone. He may be disoriented and in need of assistance. Family and friends are concerned for his safety,” read a statement from Milton Police Department officials.

In a statement, a rep for Lil Jon requested privacy and prayers.
