Chock Chapple Recently Revealed Why He and Joan Vassos Won’t Be Getting Married This Year
There has been nothing but drama and legal trouble out of Bachelor Nation this week. Between the cancellation of Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of the series and a contestant’s arrest for assault, things have been looking pretty bleak. Things look so bad that several former stars think the franchise might be done for. Fans aren’t ready to give up that easily, though. If you are in the market for some wholesome news from Bachelor Nation, you might want to look at the “golden” members of the franchise. Things between Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple are going so swimmingly that Chock even suggested when he and his love might tie the knot. Sure, it’s not for a while, but that’s for a good reason, too.
Chock Chapple gave ‘The Golden Bachelorette’ an update on his and Joan Vassos’ marriage plans
With all of the bad going on in Bachelor Nation, fans are looking for some good news. They actually got it not too long ago. While the young contestants are having a bit of a hard time, two golden members of Bachelor Nation are still very much in love and swimming along.
In February 2026, Chock Chapple and Joan Vassos sat down for an Instagram Q&A and revealed some big news. After insisting that they were doing great together, they got down to business and shared when they might actually get married. Chapple explained that 2026 won’t be the year that they say “I do,” but it’s not because they don’t want to wed. The business owner noted that one of Vassos’ four children is getting married this year. He explained that they’ve decided to give the young couple the spotlight.
Chapple went on to predict that 2027 could be their year. Still, he was careful to note that things could change. He quipped that his own son might be getting close to popping the question. If he does, that would push their wedding date back further. Apparently, Chapple and Vassos will give their kids the right of way when it comes to marriage. Right now, they seem happy to wait and see how it turns out.
The couple doesn’t live together, and they like it that way
Chock Chapple and Joan Vassos met on the set of The Golden Bachelorette in 2024. Joan’s season of the dating competition, the first of its kind, was largely beloved by fans. The contestants were mostly kind and wholesome men looking for a shot at love. Vassos had several suitors that fans thought might be a good fit, but she ultimately went with business owner Chapple rather than ER doctor Guy Gansert.

While the pair left the series engaged, they both admitted they were in absolutely no rush to tie the knot. Since linking up, they’ve also opted not to move in together. Instead, they are navigating a long-distance relationship. Chapple has maintained his home in Wichita while Vassos has stayed close to her adult children in Maryland.
Vassos opened up about their long-distance love in January. She noted that they were a solid couple with no plans to split. In a chat with Bachelor Nation, she claimed that she and Chapple were actually enjoying their current setup and that while they plan to merge their lives at some point, they were doing well as is. Neither seems to be in a rush, which has allowed them to get to know each other before making a big commitment.
