Ciara Miller and Sydney Sweeney Condemn Amanda Batula and West Wilson’s Behavior
One week after Amanda Batula and West Wilson’s bombshell statement about their romance, co-star Ciara Miller appeared to shade them in an interview with Sydney Sweeney. On March 31, Batula and Wilson announced that they were romantically involved. This shocked Summer House fans because Miller was Wilson’s ex and Batula’s close friend. In an interview at the Euphoria season premiere, both Miller and Sweeney spoke about stealing a friend’s boyfriend.
The ‘Summer House’ stars recently announced their romantic involvement
After nearly a month of rampant fan speculation, Batula and Wilson addressed rumors that they were romantically involved. They both posted identical statements to their Instagram accounts.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” the statement began. “It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
They noted that their relationship “grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship.”
“As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling. We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless,” they concluded. “We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
Fan backlash came swiftly because of Miller’s relationships with Wilson and Batula. Many Summer House cast members also appeared to side with Miller.
Ciara Miller appeared to shade Amanda Batula and West Wilson
Miller recently interviewed cast members at the Euphoria season three premiere. In a conversation with Sweeney, Miller appeared to reference the situation.
“If you steal your friends’ ex-boyfriend, what do you think is the next step?” Miller asked.
Sweeney said the move was “no good.” In Euphoria, her character, Cassie, begins dating Maddy’s (Alexa Demie) boyfriend, Nate (Jacob Elordi). In the third season, the couple will get married.
“I feel like you ought to get married,” Miller said. Both women said, “You gotta make it worth it.”
Miller then looked directly at the camera.
“You gotta make it worth something, ’cause that’s just worth too much pain,” Sweeney added.
HBO shared the clip with the caption, “Asking for a friend.”
Ciara Miller said she’s doing well after Amanda Batula and West Wilson’s announcement
While a number of sources reported that Batula and Wilson’s involvement hurt Miller, she appeared to be in good spirits at the Euphoria premiere. When asked how she was doing, Miller said she was “thriving.”
“We’re at Euphoria, how could we not [be thriving],” she told Entertainment Tonight.
Miller will have a chance to confront Batula and Wilson directly at the Summer House reunion, which will likely film later this month.
