Timothée Chalamet was asked in a recent interview whether he is EsDeeKid, and his non-answer is further fueling speculation. Here are all of the reasons people think Chalamet is EsDeeKid:

EsDeeKid and Timothée Chalamet look a lot alike

EsDeeKid is a rising star on the UK’s hip-hop scene. While the rapper is talented, his mysterious persona, including his refusal to share his true identity, has amplified interest in him. TikTok users think they’ve got it all figured out. Some time ago, social media users pointed out that EsDeeKid and Timothée Chalamet share many similarities.

Several social media users pointed out that the mysterious rapper and the famed actor have the same eyes and full eyebrows. While similar eyes aren’t enough to make a case for a shared identity most of the time, Chalamet’s eyes and brows are pretty distinctive. When you compare them side by side, they certainly do appear to be the same.

The eye shape and color similarities could be coincidental. But fans have noted that EsDeeKid and Timothée Chalamet also share the same style. Both have been spotted wearing a rather obscure Alexander McQueen scarf popularized in the early 2000s. While the scarf has seen a bit of a resurgence, according to Harper’s Bazaar, it’s still a fairly vague fashion item. It seems odd for two men to rock the exact same vintage scarf.

Schedules, previous interest, and Chalamet’s coy response further fuel rumors

While the eyes and the scarf are enough for some fans, the fact that Timothée Chalamet and EsDeeKid have opposite schedules seems to be the real clincher. EsDeeKid seems to go quiet while Timothée Chalamet is filming movies, and jumps back into the music scene when Chalamet seems to have some time off. For example, EsDeeKid has tour dates planned for early 2026, a time when Chalamet has little going on in terms of filming or press. When Chalemet was busy promoting Marty Supreme, EsDeeKid was quiet.

Further bolstering the theory is Chalamet’s previous interest in music, as well as his recent reluctance to answer direct questions about the mysterious EsDeeKid. The actor even had a rap alter ego while still a high school student. A recent interview for Heart Breakfast in the United Kingdom has everyone talking, too. When asked directly about EsDeeKid, Chalamet declined to comment, but cheekily said that all will be revealed in time. Fans can’t decide if he was just playing along or confirming the rapper’s identity. Online sleuths continue to speculate.
