David and Victoria Beckham’s Marriage Now Facing ‘Colossal Blow’ and ‘Dagger’ to Their Brand, Friend Says

David and Victoria Beckham‘s names have been in the headlines almost daily since January, when their oldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, went public about the family’s feud. Brooklyn unloaded on his parents for how he says he and his wife, Nicola Peltz, have been treated over the last few years.

According to the statement Brooklyn posted on his Instagram stories, “My parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.

“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events, and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”

If what Brooklyn says is accurate and everything with the Beckham family is for optics, then David and Victoria can’t be happy at all that the details of their rift are in the news. Now, a friend of the couple says that the whole thing is taking a toll on their marriage.

The insider told RadarOnline that the former soccer star and Posh Spice “are in a major crisis right now. And that applies to their marriage as well as the spiraling situation with Brooklyn.”

Another major issue for Victoria is what her husband said just hours after Brooklyn aired out his family’s laundry.

During an interview with CNBC’s Squawk Box, David did not directly address the feud or Brooklyn’s comments but said, “Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn. So, that’s what I try to teach my kids, but you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes as well.”

That statement “did not sit well with Victoria,” and is the reason some friends feel that “whether David meant it or not,” it seemed that “he chose Brooklyn over Victoria. It’s a colossal blow to the marriage as well as the family as a whole” since Victoria has decided it’s better not say anything that people can tie to the rift with their son.

Moreover, the friend added, David and Victoria have “been in turmoil for the longest time over the feud with their son and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. There’s a lot of blame and finger-pointing going on behind the scenes [after Brooklyn’s post] … Put simply, for their brand to survive, they’ve always needed to come across as rock solid. There was no margin for weakness or cracks to be exposed at all … The fact they’ve now been exposed as dysfunctional is a real dagger to their brand.”
