Who Is Detroit Lions Wide Receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown’s Girlfriend, Brooklyn Adams?
After playing college ball with the USC Trojans, Amon-Ra St. Brown was selected by the Detroit Lions in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Since then, he’s become a key part of the team’s success and one of the most popular wide receivers in the league.
Whether you’re a Lions fan or have him on your fantasy team, St. Brown has plenty of people cheering for him when he steps on the field. Now, many fans want to learn more about the wideout’s life off the gridiron and his relationship with Brooklyn Adams, who was featured on Netflix’s show Receivers.
The series, which was released in 2024, follows the lives and careers of five NFL wide receivers, including St. Brown, during the 2023–24 season.
How long have Amon-Ra St. Brown and Brooklyn Adams been together?
In an episode of Receivers, St. Brown revealed that he and Adams met when they were teenagers and attended Servite High School in Anaheim, California. He recalled that they got to know each other when a teacher paired them up for an English class assignment.
“We had a project and started talking then,” the athlete said. “By the end of my sophomore year, we started dating, and we’ve been together ever since.”
What Adams does for a living
On the series, the couple also discussed how they maintained a long-distance relationship. At the time, Adams was attending nursing school in Orange County, California. They explained that they traveled to meet up as often as their schedules allowed.
“I got into nursing school and not too long after the draft happened,” Adams shared before St. Brown added, “She tries to come to as many games as she can.”
In July 2024, Adams graduated and became a registered nurse. She also helps run the St. Brown Foundation for youth literacy, founded by her boyfriend and his siblings.
“It’s a focus on literacy, to help get their literacy rates up, because literacy in the United States, but specifically in Michigan, is really low,” Adams told People. “Amon-Ra and I always had great opportunities in education. Our parents did an amazing job giving us those opportunities. Looking back at what we were given, we realized that few people have that. We wanted to give back and make sure that kids get that.”
Adams isn’t a fan of being called a WAG
Something else we know about Adams is that she doesn’t like being called a “WAG.”
Her reasoning is simple: “We’re more than wives and girlfriends of athletes,” she stated. “I have a name, and if you got to know me, then you’d realize that I’m more than just a girlfriend … I don’t like the WAG title. Nothing against anybody who likes it. It’s cute that girls put their own twist on it. But to be given that title, I’m not a fan.”
Adams continued, “There are so many girlfriends and wives who do so much. You have women who work full-time, and women who are moms. You have so many women who are doing so many things behind the scenes that they don’t get seen enough. To be put in this category is discrediting.”
