Devin Booker’s Love of Cars Inspired Another Sneaker Colorway
Devin Booker has two major interests off the court: a love of cars and a love of sneakers. His interest in the sneaker game has paid off big for him, too. Not only is he a collector, but he also has a signature shoe. Over the years, he’s made sure to bring his love of Chevy cars and trucks into his sneaker designs, too. He was recently spotted wearing a pair of his Nike Book 1s that were inspired by his 1996 Chevy Impala. It’s not the first time he’s drawn inspiration from his car collection.
Devin Booker was spotted wearing sneakers inspired by his Chevy Impala
Earlier this month, Devin Booker was spotted wearing a pair of Dark Cherry Metallic Nike Book 1s on the court. According to Sneaker News, Booker unveiled the kicks on November 8, and they instantly caught the attention of fans. The shoes are inspired by his 1996 Chevy Impala, a car he frequently talks about.
The sneaker features a patent leather upper in a deep burgundy. The upper is complemented by a silver leather swoosh that is reminiscent of the chrome accents on Booker’s Impala. A silver Impala logo completes the look and makes it impossible to miss the connection to Booker’s beloved ride.
Fans hoping to get their hands on the colorway may be in for a long wait. While Booker debuted the sneaker on the court, there is no release date for it, and there is no information on whether the colorway will be avialalbe ot the public. Booker is currently working on his second version of his signature shoe. The Nike Book 2 is expected to be released in 2026.
The NBA star has combined his two loves before
While the potentially upcoming sneaker colorway is the first time Devin Booker has paid homage to his 1996 Chevy Impala, it is not the first time he has had the oppurtunity to blend his two loves together. Booker has previously collaborated with Nike and Chevrolet on several pairs of sneakers, achieving solid results.
In April 2025, Booker worked with Nike and Chevy to develop three sneakers inspired by his favorite rides. The Book 1 in Gold Leaf is inspired by his 1950s-era Impala. The sneakers feature a hairy suede upper in gold leaf with blue accents. It also includes Chevy’s traditional logo on the tongue. Around the same time, Booker also worked on two different Blazer Low colorways that pay homage to Chevy.
The Nike Blazer Low in Surf Blue was inspired by the 1972 Chevy K5 Blazers that Booker proudly owns. The car, which he calls “Uncle Larry,” inspired the color and the hang tags on the shoe. Chevy’s logo is, once again, featured on the tongue. Booker also worked on a green pair of Nike Blazer Lows with Chevy. The “Team Dark Green” colorway offers a vintage feel with Booker’s branding on the heel and gum sole. The Chevy logo is featured on the tongue.
While Booker hasn’t spoken about his future plans, we can imagine that more Chevy collaborations are on the horizon. We’ll have to wait and see.
