Jenelle Evans is having a very eventful day on social media. While she’s in the midst of a massive and very intense feud with Farrah Abraham and a separate scuffle with Amanda Conner, she’s still making time to fight with Kenleigh Heatwole. During a recent musing about Heatwole, Evans appears to have let slip David Eason’s ever-changing relationship status. The former Teen Mom 2 star appears to suggest Heatwole and Eason have reconciled after their very public and very messy split last month.

David Eason’s relationship status might be just as dynamic and fluid as Jenelle Evans’ feuds. In the midst of throwing shade at Kenleigh Heatwole, she may have let it slip that her ex-husband is still in a relationship. On the evening of September 30, Evans took to X (formerly Twitter) to claim her ex-husband’s girlfriend is obsessed with her. She went on to say Kenleigh, who is the only partner Eason has publicly had since their split, speaks about her multiple times a day.
While her accusations are interesting, Teen Mom critics honed in on the use of the term girlfriend. Eason and Heatwole broke up weeks ago in rather dramatic fashion. The use of the term ‘girlfriend,’ instead of ‘ex-girlfriend,’ has followers wondering if she just leaked her ex’s updated relationship status. While it’s possible that she simply misspoke, the news wouldn’t exactly shock fans and followers.
When and why did the North Carolina pair split up?
While Jenelle Evans seems adamant that Kenleigh Heatwole and David Eason are very much an item, Heatwole is denying it entirely. In fact, she even took to social media following Evans’ tweets to claim she is very much in her “breakup” season, without directly calling out Evans’ report. Followers think she might be protesting too much. Critics have suspected Heatwole and Eason might have reconciled in late September, despite an alleged insider telling Ok! Magazine they had not. Their split was plenty dramatic. So we could see why Heatwole might want to keep it quiet if they had reconnected.
Heatwole and Eason appeared to be going strong throughout the summer. Their year-long romance seemed to be working. Suddenly, though, things took a drastic turn in the first week of September. After spending time on “the land” with Eason and making fun of Evans, she took to X (formerly Twitter) to report that Eason had accused her of cheating. She said she had subsequently thrown him out. She mourned the relationship on X and spilled plenty of tea about her less-than-upstanding gentleman. Heatwole even posted a video of him acting menacing.
She was very public about the split, and then, suddenly, she went quiet. Kenleigh reappeared on X insisting she had to play nice with Eason. She seemed to imply that he was living back inside her home, but she was unhappy about it. We haven’t heard much since.

While Jenelle Evans is keeping herself pretty busy, she’s not keeping herself busy with a new man. She hasn’t met her next soulmate just yet. When Evans moved out to Las Vegas in May 2024, she did so to be closer to her manager-turned-lover August Keen. Despite her big move, things didn’t go well. By January, the relationship was over, and Evans was adamant she had been played.
Since then, she’s made some noise about finding a new man, but no one has materialized. Still, she is actively on the market. Evans claimed in May that she was using the dating apps to find her next great love. It is how she found most of her past romances, too.
