Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ legal team has spent months fighting for his release from prison. After his conviction on two violations of the Mann Act, his team got to work seeking a new trial or an acquittal. When the convictions weren’t overturned, they argued that a light sentence would make the most sense. They didn’t get their way. Now that Judge Arun Subramanian has officially sentenced Diddy to 50 months, the team would at least like to see him sent to the prison of their choosing. They want to see him at FCI Fort Dix. If he does end up there, he’ll have been one of a few famous faces to serve time there.

Diddy’s defense team requests that he serve out his sentence at FCI Fort Dix

The Bureau of Prisons will have the final say when it comes to where Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs serves out his 50-month sentence. Still, Judge Arun Subramanian can make recommendations, and the defense team can certainly make requests. According to TMZ, his defense team exercised that right on October 6.

According to the outlet, Teny Geragos, one of several defense lawyers who have worked on the case, submitted a request for the disgraced media mogul to be sent to FCI Fort Dix to serve out his sentence. The request argued that Diddy would be best served at the New Jersey facility because of its drug treatment program. While not one of the prisons considered “nice,” it is certainly a step up from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he has been staying for the last 12 months.

These celebrities have also served prison terms at Fort Dix

While the Bureau of Prisons has yet to announce the facility where Diddy will serve his sentence, if he does head to FCI Fort Dix, he won’t be the first high-profile criminal to walk through the doors. He won’t even be the first famous one to put on a jumpsuit at the New Jersey facility.

Joe Giudice served his sentence at the facility before being handed off to immigration agents for deportation. Giudice, famous for his role on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, was convicted of tax evasion, bankruptcy fraud, and mail and wire fraud. He served 41 months before eventually being deported to Italy. He now lives in the Bahamas. Teresa Giudice, Joe Giudice’s ex-wife, was convicted on similar charges and served a much shorter prison term at FCI Danbury.

The prison also housed Lee “Crazy Cabbie” Siegfried, a regular contributor to The Howard Stern Show. Siegfried served time for tax evasion after he admitted, on air, that he had not filed or paid taxes. While he started his one-year stint at FCI Fort Dix, he was later moved to a medical facility in Massachusetts. According to Insider Radio, Siegfried died in 2024 after living with Guillain-Barré syndrome for several years.

Martin Shkreli, often known as “Pharma Bro,” served his lengthy prison term at Fort Dix. He was released early in 2022. The prison has also housed a variety of politicians convicted of crimes ranging from fraud to racketeering over the years.
