Diddy’s Wardrobe Will Be Updated Ahead of Trial: Department of Justice Gives the OK
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been wearing only standard-issue prison uniforms for the last seven months. That is about to change, though. The disgraced music mogul’s trial for sex trafficking and racketeering will begin in just a few short days, but he won’t walk into the courtroom wearing a uniform. Ahead of the trial, a judge has ruled that Diddy can swap out his prison uniform for business attire for his court appearances. Still, there is a limit to the number of clothing items he can have.
A judge has allowed Diddy to wear personal clothing for his trial
Less than a week before Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is expected in court for his sex trafficking and racketeering trial, a judge has made a call on his attire. Diddy will be allowed to appear in court in business clothes. Diddy’s new look will be markedly different from how he has appeared in court thus far. During all of his pre-trial appearances, Diddy wore the tan prison uniform he wears on a daily basis.
Diddy will have access to more fashion variety during his trial. Still, he is still limited to the number of items he can have on hand. A judge has ruled his legal team can provide him with five button-down shirts, five sweaters, five pairs of pants, five pairs of socks, and two pairs of shoes. According to Newsweek, he is not allowed shoes with laces, and it doesn’t appear he’ll have access to a belt. While Diddy was once known for his jewelry, accessories were not mentioned.
What is the disgraced music mogul wearing now?
While Diddy’s upcoming wardrobe options will be decidedly basic, they will likely be far better than what he has worn over the last seven months while detained. Most of the time, Diddy is limited to a tan prison jumpsuit and standard-issue underwear, socks, and undershirts.
When they aren’t working, the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn inmates can wear t-shirts, shorts, and sweatsuits. Still, their clothing must come from the commissary. Clothing and shoes must be unbranded.
Where will the trial be held?
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial will begin on May 5, 2025. Judge Arun Subramanian will oversee the proceedings at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse located in Manhattan. Diddy has pleaded not guilty. The trial should take between eight to ten weeks, beginning with jury selection on May 5. While it is unclear exactly how long jury selection will take, opening statements are expected on or around May 12.
During the trial, prosecutors will aim to prove that Diddy spent decades using power, wealth, and drugs to coerce people into sex acts. Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, is expected to testify for the prosecution. According to the New York Post, three other alleged victims will provide anonymous testimony. The founder of Bad Boy Records also has over 50 civil lawsuits outstanding.
