Do You Remember the Time Michael Rapaport Evicted Natasha Lyonne?
Natasha Lyonne has made headlines this month. First she revealed a relapse, then she was spotted being escorted off a flight. While she insists that there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for the issue, The Orange is the New Black star is no stranger to controversy or public troubles. In fact, she’s had many ups and downs throughout her career. Do you remember the time Michael Rapaport wrote about evicting her from an apartment he owned?
Michael Rapaport once evicted Natasha Lyonne, and then he wrote all about it
Natasha Lyonne was well known in Hollywood circles in the early 2000s. Early success made her the talk of the town, so when she needed to rent a New York City pad for a brief stay, she had no trouble finding one. Michael Rapaport agreed to rent an apartment to her in a building he owned, and that should have been the end of that. It was not.
In 2005, Rapaport penned an expose for Jane about evicting a fellow actor. In the article, he described a home filled with broken glass and severe plumbing issues. He recounted complaints from neighbors, trouble with rental payments, and Lyonne’s overly laissez-faire attitude, which had him running to court to get her evicted. The process stretched on for months, but eventually Lyonne was tossed from the Manhattan home.
Following the eviction, she landed in a hospital bed for months. Eventually, she pulled through, found sobriety, and worked consistently. Things seem to have spiraled a bit in recent weeks, with Lyonne admitting to a relapse, insisting sobriety is an ongoing process.
Where do the actors stand with each other now?
While Michael Rapaport evicted Natasha Lyonne and wrote all about it in a magazine, they have worked things out. Apparently, a decade heals all wounds. Back in 2016, Rapaport announced during a chat on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that all was fine between them now. He insisted they were now good friends and had reconciled.
Lyonne, back in 2012, recognized she was the problem in the rental situation. During a chat with Entertainment Weekly, she contended she would have been pisssed, too, if the tables had been turned. She called her eviction “shenanigan-based fallout.”
While Natasha Lyonne insists she’s currently doing better after a brief relapse, her recent removal from a flight has plenty of fans concerned. Michael Rapaport has not commented on the actor’s most recent issues. It is unclear where she lives now.
