Dolly Parton might not be able to commit to performing right now, thanks to a private health battle, but that doesn’t mean she’s just hanging out at home in her pajamas. Parton spoke about her concern earlier this year, when she cancelled a Las Vegas residency to address health issues. Since then, she’s apparently been busy at work with a brand new business venture. Soon you’ll be able to rest up at a Dolly Parton-approved truck stop.

Dolly Parton is preparing to get into the truck stop business

While addressing her health issues, Dolly Parton has been working to make traveling in Tennessee a little more pleasant. The superstar is partnering with the company that runs the chain of Tennessean Travel Stop across the state. Parton plans to reimagine and redesign truck stops. The new stops will be called Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop and will be as much an attraction as a rest stop.

According to WSMV, the first location will be in Cornersville, Tennessee, along Interstate 65. It will serve as the flagship stop and should be fully operational by the summer of 2026. More rest stops will be reworked if the Cornersville location is successful.

Parton is no stranger to the road. As a touring musician, Dolly Parton has traveled across the United States by bus many times over the years. She’ll be drawing on that experience to create a rest stop experience that appeals to everyone, from families traveling for the holidays to long-haul truckers trying to earn a paycheck.  Modern amenities, fine dining, and retail stores will be added to the stops to craft a comforting and restful environment.

Health troubles had fans concerned about the country music legend

While Dolly Parton addressed her need to manage some health conditions earlier this year, she’s been relatively quiet about what the exact issue is. She did note that her doctor suggested she stick close to home and address her medical needs instead of continuing to work. Still, the country music legend emphasized that her health issues are not sidelining her forever. She insists she’ll be returning to the stage sooner rather than later.

While Parton hasn’t shared her exact diagnosis, the health troubles have been severe enough to lead to the cancellation of several public appearances. Parton skipped a scheduled appearance at Dollywood. She also opted out of an awards ceremony appearance, despite being set to be honored. According to several sources, kidney stones and a kidney infection were likely to blame for those missed appearances. She has, however, appeared in a recent video to assure her fans that she is not sick. In the October 8 video, Parton says she is doing well. She insists that she will be back as soon as possible. Her new business announcement has made fans a bit more confident that Dolly Parton is doing ok.
