Elvis Presley began a relationship with the future Priscilla Presley when he was stationed in Germany with the army. Priscilla lived on the army base with her parents and caught the eye of the famous singer. Despite their age difference — she was just 14 and he was 24 — they began spending almost every night together. Priscilla said they never had sex, though she said she pushed for it. When she visited him in the United States, he warned her not to be with another man.

Elvis wanted Priscilla Presley to save herself for him

After Elvis left Germany and returned to the United States, Priscilla only heard from him sporadically. Eventually, though, he invited her to visit him in Los Angeles. She begged her parents to let her go, and they reluctantly agreed.

When Priscilla arrived, she noticed some negative changes in Elvis. He seemed both cocky and quick to anger with the friends at his home. Once they were on their own, though, she said things went back to the way they’d been in Germany.

“As we lay in the dim light, he soon discovered that I was still a virgin,” she wrote for People. “Relieved and pleased, he told me how much this meant to him. I began kissing him passionately. I wanted him — I was ready to submit entirely to him. Then, abruptly, he stopped.”

Though Priscilla said she felt ready, he told her he didn’t want to “spoil” her.

They continued to spend time together over the course of the trip. On the night before she left, he told her to save herself for him.

“I want you back the way you are now,” he told her. “And remember, I’ll always know.”

She eventually moved to Nashville to finish out high school while living at Graceland.
