Everything We Know About the Chrisley’s Upcoming Lifetime Show
Todd and Julie Chrisley’s presidential pardon was reportedly a surprise, but the family appeared to be prepared for their release regardless. Since leaving federal prisons years earlier than expected, both Todd and Julie have gotten right back to life and, reportedly, right back to work. A reality TV series for Lifetime was already in the works, and Todd and Julie Chrisley have jumped right in. Here is everything we know about it so far.
Todd and Julie Chrisley will return to reality TV
The Chrisley family will return to reality TV soon with a brand new series airing on Lifetime. Todd Chrisley teased the project during his recent press release. It’s not a brand new development, though. The show was already planned before President Donald Trump issued a presidential pardon for the controversial pair. In fact, the pardon really shook things up.
According to several sources, Lifetime had completed filming of Savannah Chrisley and her siblings for a docuseries when the pardon was announced. Todd and Julie Chrisley’s sudden release has caused the show to take a quick about-face. Initially, the series, which is still using a working title, was set to explore how the Chrisley kids navigated life without their parents. The network planned to address the couple’s ongoing legal process, too. According to People, once the pardon was issued, the show’s storyline changed direction. The network is now focusing on Todd and Julie’s reintegration into the family. Camera crews scrambled back into place, and a crew was there to capture their first moments home, said Savannah Chrisley.
While filming is ongoing, the series doesn’t yet have a premiere date.
They previously had a successful show
The upcoming Lifetime series won’t be the Chrisleys’ first taste of reality TV fame. Before incarceration, Todd and Julie Chrisley starred in a reality TV series on the USA Network. The series, Chrisley Knows Best ran for 10 seasons from March 11, 2014, to March 27, 2023. It followed the lives of Todd, Julie, and their five children. Early seasons were filmed in Roswell and Alpharetta, Georgia, before the family relocated to Nashville, Tennessee. A spinoff series, Growing Up Chrisley, was filmed concurrently from 2019 until 2022.
While the network followed the couple’s legal proceedings, from their indictment to their ultimate conviction, it opted not to continue after the couple’s sentencing. Both series were canceled following the sentencing, with the last few episodes airing after Todd and Julie reported to federal prison.
