Expert Reveals What Meghan Markle ‘Couldn’t Hold Back’ During Her Engagement Interview With Prince Harry
Once upon a time, long before Megxit, TV specials bashing the institution, and damning allegations against Britain’s royal family, fans thought Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were going to embark on a fairy tale when they announced their engagement.
The news came on Nov. 27, 2017, and when word spread that the prince and his American girlfriend were engaged to be married, fans on both sides of the pond were excited for them. Many then tuned in to watch the interview in which they gave everyone a glimpse into their relationship.
Now, an expert has said that Meghan was holding back for a bit in that interview until she couldn’t contain herself any longer. Here’s more on that.
Expert points out moment when Meghan ‘couldn’t hold back any longer’
Inbaal Honigman is a celebrity psychic and a body language expert. For more than two decades, she has offered her expertise and her predictions for Big Brother’s Little Brother, Elle Magazine, and talkSPORT radio, to name a few. Also, before King Charles revealed publicly that he had cancer, Honigman accurately predicted that the monarch would develop an “illness” that would “become public knowledge via an official announcement.”
Speaking on behalf of Slingo’s AR Rooftop Chase, Honigman told Showbiz Cheat Sheet that during the Sussexes’ joint interview, Meghan didn’t seem to want to “reveal too much” at times, explaining, “When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first speak about their holiday together, they glance at each other, showing they have a strong bond, and both reminiscing of their memories from that holiday. Meghan then smiles a very curious smile.
“As Harry speaks, Meghan smiles at the interviewer with her cheeks raised and rounded, which indicates very positive emotions. At the same time, her smiling mouth is closed which indicates perhaps politeness or not wanting to reveal too much. It’s as if she’s trying not to show how happy she is with that memory, or how thrilled she was at that time.”
According to Honigman, Meghan could no longer “hold back her joy” after Harry brought up one moment in particular, explaining, “When Harry reminisces more, reminding Meghan about their moments under the stars, that’s when her teeth flash, when she can’t hold back her joy any longer and the memory of that holiday brings them both happiness but Meghan is much more intense in her feelings of joy.”
Prince Harry wanted Meghan to feel ‘protected’ during the interview
Honigman added that the Duke of Sussex displayed signs that he wanted Meghan to feel “protected” as they gave the interview.
“Meghan’s hands are intertwined together in her lap and her knee is popped, raised, so that she is in a protective pose, both her arms and her leg covering her middle,” the expert noted. “Harry on the other hand expresses open body language with his arms uncrossed and one of his hands nestled in between Meghan’s hands, he’s helping her feel more protected while happily leaving himself open and exposed.”
Showbiz Cheat Sheet acknowledges that conditions and cultures can impact body language and is sensitive to all backgrounds.
