Earlier this week, Jenelle Evans took the Teen Mom fandom by storm with her gripping TikTok story about the time Lil Wayne allegedly flew her to Los Angeles for a little action. You’d think she’d capture critics’ attention for a while, but a competitor has entered the arena.  Farrah Abraham will not be outdone. The former Teen Mom star is making some lofty claims about why she was fired from Teen Mom. After years of claiming her interest in the adult entertainment industry was the problem, she’s now saying her politics were the issue. She was fired nearly a decade ago, and this is the first time we are hearing of her political beliefs. Let’s take a look at what happened.

Farrah Abraham now claims she was fired because of her politics

It has been eight years since Farrah Abraham was last seen on Teen Mom. Regardless of how much time has passed, Abraham is still talking about the show and her firing. Occasionally, when she’s particularly fired up, she comes up with a new claim about her dismissal. This week, she’s alleging political discrimination played a role in the long-ago job loss. In one of her more disturbing social media crashouts in recent history, Abraham took to Instagram to absolutely unload on Morgan J. Freeman, the show’s producer and creator.

In a winding rant, Abraham dug up a tweet in which Freeman, who has made his political affiliations very public, noted several people he believed the United States would be better off without. The list included Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist who was killed in Utah this week. The tweet was posted in 2023. Abraham went on to claim Freeman is a ‘woman abuser” and is off his “12 step program.” She also said he had “demons” and that he’s a “piece of s**t” that she’s glad she doesn’t work with any longer. The story has since expired, but the Ashley Reality Roundup Group published a screenshot.

The social media rant wasn’t nearly enough for Abraham this time around. She agreed to talk to OK! Magazine following the post. She flung even more lofty allegations at Freeman at that point. Abraham told the outlet that Freeman fired her because of who she voted for. She went on to accuse him of “inciting murder.” Abraham did not provide any concrete evidence that her political leanings influenced her dismissal.

Morgan J. Freeman has opted not to respond to Abraham’s accusations, a strategy he has employed for years in his dealings with Abraham.

Why was Farrah Abraham actually fired?

Farrah Abraham might want to blame politics for MTV’s decision to part ways with her now, but she was singing a different tune back in 2017 and 2018.  In fact, she has spent years claiming her sex work led to her dismissal. She is just now wavering from that narrative.

Do You Remember the Time Farrah Abraham Threatened to Sue Harvard?

In 2018, Abraham filed a lawsuit seeking $5 million from MTV’s parent company, Viacom, claiming she was “sex- shamed” while on the job and fired for participating in adult entertainment. In the lawsuit, she claimed she was exposed to a hostile work environment and gender discrimination before she was wrongfully terminated. Viacom argued that the mother of one had breached her contract. Ultimately, they settled out of court. According to People, Abraham voluntarily dismissed the suit. The settlement remains confidential.

Viacom and MTV have never issued an official statement explaining exactly why the former TV personality was fired. Still, rumors have swirled for years that it was more than Abraham’s sex work that led to the decision to part ways. Several insiders have stepped forward over the years to claim Abraham was difficult to work with. Allegedly, she often caused production issues. Those claims are unsubstantiated, though.
