One thing about Fetty Wap that people can’t question is his loyalty. The rapper is so loyal, in fact, that he once gave $1 million to someone who supported him before his fame. But after that, his longtime friend never spoke to him again.

Fetty Wap, whose real name is Willie Junior Maxwell II, recently relayed the story about giving his friend the first million he ever made and never seeing that person again.

During an appearance on The Crew Has It, the “Trap Queen” artist shared, “First million-dollar check, had it in my hand, the one I gave it to, never speak again. I’ve never seen it yet. Yeah, ain’t ever seeing it.”

Fetty explained that because this person was by his side before his come up and helped him with his finances prior to his career taking off, he felt he deserved the money.

“Like yeah, because that was my promise on him because he put all the money up for us to really get lit,” he said, then recalled, “It was two checks, $500,000 and $500,000 … I’m looking at this s*** and I’m like, [here]. And he’s like, ‘What you want off that?’ I’m like, ‘It’s yours, we good.’”

Although the relationship Fetty had with the person, who he did not name, ended that day he doesn’t harbor any resentment towards them now.

“I didn’t have to do nothing but it’s just being loyal,” he said. “I don’t fault nobody … I knew that million was gonna come again regardless … I keep my word. If I say I’ma do something, I’ma do it.”

Fetty’s net worth was once valued at around $8 million. However, Celebrity Net Worth estimates that amount was significantly reduced from his peak earnings, following his release from federal prison on Jan. 8, 2026.
